Welcome to the Shamanic Shadow Work session here on Insight Timer.
During this session I'm going to be guiding you on a journey to assist you with connecting with your shadow,
So that you can bring it from darkness into the light.
Within this process we are going to be using a healing tool called the process of illumination,
Where we get to the depths of your wounds and your shadow.
Though this is a shortened version of the process,
It's important for you to be honest and transparent with yourself and your emotions,
As you connect with those wounds within yourself and you start embracing them.
So that you can bring the darkness and those wounds into the light,
So that you can reach a sense of wholeness and unification within,
So that you can accept the true love,
Light and shadow within yourself.
Now one of my favourite teachers,
Joseph Campbell,
Once said that the cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.
And so it's essential for each and every one of us to delve deep within that cave,
To explore those shadow aspects and wounds within,
So that we can love and accept who we truly are.
So I invite you to join me in this shadow work session to assist you with healing those wounds within you,
So that you can begin shifting them from darkness into the light.
To begin this guided meditation,
I'd like you to take a deep breath in through your nose,
And out through your mouth.
In through your nose,
And out through your mouth.
In through your nose,
And out through your mouth.
Allowing yourself to become present and connected with who you are.
Finally one more time,
Taking a deep breath in through your nose,
And out through your mouth.
And just allow yourself to relax and let go in this moment.
Throughout this guided meditation,
It's essential for you to be honest and transparent with yourself,
As you heal those shadow aspects and wounds within you,
And begin transmuting them from darkness into light.
As you listen to this guided meditation,
Allow yourself to tune in to the shamanic drum,
As you connect with your own inner heartbeat,
And the heartbeat of nature.
Imagine now,
Walking along a beach at night,
Where the moon is full and it's illuminating the sky.
You may also notice that it's illuminating aspects within yourself.
Listen to the sound of the ocean,
As you connect with your inner emotions and feelings.
Slowly walk along the beach,
And allow these emotions to come to surface.
Allow the waves to drift in and out,
As your emotions begin to drift in and out.
Honour each and every emotion as it comes to the surface.
You may feel these emotions stirring up within you.
Allow yourself to feel into them,
And notice where they come from.
Feel and sense the slowness and steadiness of these emotions.
As you allow the waves to build up,
And slowly come back down.
Honouring each and every emotion for what it is in this very moment.
As you walk along the beach,
Notice your footprints in the sand.
And as you look back,
You may notice old footprints begin to fade away.
Much like your emotions and feelings,
Those wounds you hold within you.
They can slowly begin to fade away,
As you acknowledge the emotions.
And allow them to be seen for what they are,
To be loved and accepted in this moment.
As you walk further along the beach,
Notice a cave before you.
Don't fear this cave though,
Because the cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.
And within this cave,
Holds that love and light at which you have been seeking.
So slowly and steady,
Allow yourself to wander into that cave.
Still noticing those emotions and feelings within you.
Again honouring them for exactly what they are.
As you allow yourself to transmute and heal these wounds from within.
As you walk slowly into this cave,
Notice some of these emotions coming to the surface.
In order to be healed,
Revealed and loved and accepted for what they are.
Now is the time for them to be seen.
As you approach the back of the cave,
You may notice a fire that is lit in front of you.
Illuminating this cave,
Bringing light to the darkness.
As you illuminate aspects within you.
Notice those feelings and capture them for this moment.
As you notice them,
Feel them within your body and notice where they reside.
Allow yourself to bring up one emotion and feeling in particular.
In order to work through,
In order to transmute and heal that specific wound within you.
Notice where it resides as we begin illuminating that within and transmuting it from darkness into light.
In a moment I am going to be using the shamanic drum to assist you with connecting to the depths and feelings of this emotion.
So as you connect with this feeling within,
Allow the emotion to build up.
Allow it to slowly build up more and more,
But only as much as you feel comfortable.
Connect with the depth of the emotion and feeling and notice that rawness within you.
But again,
Only feel it as much as you feel comfortable.
Allow it to build up and build up and build up and build up further again.
And when you are ready,
Allow it to rise from within.
Allow that fire to burn it away and lift it up and up and up.
As if it transmutes into the light.
As you shift that wound from within and begin loving that aspect of yourself once more.
Going to go through that process one more time.
Notice the emotion and feeling.
Connect with where it resides within you.
And allow yourself to connect with the rawness and emotion,
But only as much as you feel comfortable.
Allow the emotion to build up as you witness the wound within.
As it builds up more and more and more,
Only as much as you feel comfortable.
You can begin transmuting this wound,
Allowing it to build up and build up further again.
And when you get to the depth of this emotion,
Allow it to be shifted into the light.
As we bring that wound into the light and shift it out of the darkness.
Connecting with the light and love from within.
And the wholeness and beauty of who you are.
Allow yourself to notice how these emotions and feelings can be shifted as you honour each and every emotion that resides within you.
Our spiritual journey isn't all about the love and light.
It's also about embracing those shadow aspects within you.
So that you can love and appreciate the wholeness and beauty of who you are.
So now is a time for you to embrace the darkness and light.
As you accept the wholeness and beauty of who you are.
As you accept the wholeness of your being.
