Hey,
I'm Allie,
And yoga nidra is one of my favorite practices to introduce people to because it's often totally misunderstood.
A lot of people hear yoga and picture poses or like movement,
But yoga nidra involves no movement at all.
You get to lie down,
Get comfortable,
And I guide you through a practice that moves your awareness slowly through the body and your breath.
It's sometimes called yogic sleep,
But you're not totally trying to fall asleep.
You're resting in that space between being awake and being asleep,
Which is incredibly restorative for your nervous system.
It's a great option if meditation has felt really hard for you,
Because there's very little effort involved.
You're mostly just following my voice and letting your body do the heavy lifting.
I've got a yoga nidra track built around something called cognitive shuffling,
Which uses random,
Unrelated imagery to quiet a busy mind.
This is especially good if you struggle to fall asleep.
So give it a try,
Lying down,
Have the lights off,
And have nowhere to be except for here right now.
So go give it a shot.
