Find yourself in a comfortable position lying down.
This could be in the comfort of your own bed,
On your couch,
Or even set yourself up on the floor with a blanket and a pillow.
And then take a couple long deep breaths in and out.
In and out.
There are so many places in our body that we tend to hold,
But we especially tend to hold around our heart space.
And so bring your attention to the edges of your heart.
And with each breath,
Allow more softening to occur.
As if your heart was gently expanding.
And it can take some time to soften into this space because it holds so much.
And so just allow softening and be gentle with yourself.
And see now if you can relax in your legs and in your feet.
And if you can notice if you were holding or gripping in your hips or thighs.
Take a couple more deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
And in through the nose.
And out through the mouth.
And in through the nose.
And out through the mouth.
And out through the mouth.
Notice that each time you exhale,
It's an invitation to let go again.
It's an invitation to settle in again.
And it's an invitation to arrive again.
And it's a simple intention for our time together.
To soften around the awareness of your heart.
I had the opportunity last night to spend some time looking at the night sky towards the moon and the stars.
You know,
We just tend to forget how vast the universe truly is.
We tend to see something that is close and we think it's the most important thing.
And maybe for the moment it is.
But there is also this oneness within the universe that we tend to lose sight of.
You see,
The space within us is the same space that's all around us.
From the trees and the river to the galaxies and the planets.
It is all filled with light and awareness.
And so there is truly no inside,
No outside,
No self.
There is this undivided space of awareness.
An expansion of liveliness and oneness.
And it's here in this knowing that we draw close to the truth that we are home.
That this heart of ours that holds so much is home.
And everything that is vast and out in the universe is also within us.
And that everything that is so far away that seems even,
Unimaginable,
It lives within each of us.
It lives in all of us.
It lives within you.
You are made of stardust.
Did you know?
And so with all that information and all that softening around your heart and all the knowledge of what lies within you inside,
It is amazing and beautiful.
And life is so full of wonder.
Take some deep breaths.
Soften more around your heart.
Release.
Release.
Let your heart space open.
Let the breath come in like a gentle breeze on the back porch.
Like a whisper.
Come right back to your own heart.
Settle in,
My friend.
Settle in.
