Find a comfortable seat or lie down.
As you settle in,
Take a nice big inhale and a nice long exhale.
Allow your eyes to soften and maybe the eyelids drape over the eyes,
Coming to a very gentle place of rest.
Release any tension that you have around the eyes,
Through the forehead,
Through the jaw,
And the tongue.
And feel your body resting against the earth.
Take a few slow breaths in and out.
Maybe as you exhale,
You exhale through pursed lips or open the mouth and softly exhale through the mouth.
This will soften,
Slow down the exhale.
And it also allows you to hear the gentle hum of your exhale,
Bringing a soothing sensation through the whole of your body,
Mind,
Nervous system.
Feel your body settling in,
This ever-present connection to the earth.
Bring awareness to your skin,
The outer edge of your body.
Breathe into your skin as if you're breathing from the center all the way to the outermost edges,
Allowing your skin to soften.
This skin,
This edge,
It holds you.
Notice how it feels to be contained,
To have form.
Whisper inwardly,
This body is my container.
This body is my container.
This body is my container.
Feel your breath moving in,
Moving out.
Notice how it passes freely across the edges of your body.
With every inhale,
You receive from the world.
With every exhale,
You offer back to the world.
The breath shows you edges are not barriers.
They are bridges.
Now bring awareness to your mind.
Notice its thoughts as waves that rise and fall.
As we allow the pace of the breath to slow down,
Maybe the thoughts rise and fall at a different pace.
The mind too has edges,
But they can stretch,
Soften,
Expand.
Imagine the boundaries of your mind widening,
Opening into spaciousness,
Layers of consciousness expanding into each other on the waves of your breath.
Feel yourself as a unique spark,
Your desires,
Your essence,
Your way of moving and creating.
Hold that spark gently.
Now,
Imagine it's sending ripples outward,
Weaving into the great fabric of life.
Sense how your most authentic expression nourishes the whole.
Whisper inwardly,
When I am fully myself,
I support the all.
When I am fully myself,
I support the all.
When I am fully myself,
I support the all.
Rest in this moment,
Aware of body,
Breath,
Mind and spirit.
Past,
Present,
Future,
They fold into now.
Each breath is the opportunity.
Each moment is the awakening.
Slowly bring your awareness back to your body,
Resting here.
This ever present feeling of support from the earth.
Feel the edges of your skin again,
Your container.
Notice that even within your edges,
You are connected with all of life.
Take a deep breath in and a slow breath out.
You can stay here,
Connected for as long as you like.
And when you feel ready,
You can open your eyes,
Carrying with you the remembrance.
I am.
