Today we're going to bring our attention to our home.
And we're going to recognize some blessings,
Intentionally generate some satisfaction.
Is there something that we can celebrate?
So bring your attention to the whole body.
If there's any tension that's built up,
Or an exhalation just letting that go.
Do you have a place to live that's either permanent or temporary?
And is that something we can express some appreciation for,
Some gratitude?
Perhaps there's things about your home you're dissatisfied with,
But are there things you can celebrate?
Wherever you live,
Does it have a roof to keep you dry when it rains,
Walls to keep out the cold,
The wind,
The heat?
That's a pretty great thing.
Do you have a bed to sleep in,
A bed that's yours or that you share with a loved one?
That's pretty great.
Do you have clothes to wear at your house,
And a machine perhaps that washes them you have access to?
Is that something you can feel some gratitude and appreciation for?
Not like guilt,
But like,
Wow,
That's so wonderful.
What blessings I have in my life,
Even at my most depressed or discouraged.
There's so many ways that life is supporting me and giving me goodness.
There's ways my life could be worse.
Do you have belongings and space to store them,
Furniture and dishes and tools and books?
Do you have indoor plumbing running hot and cold water?
You turn on the tap and clean,
Drinkable water flows.
Flush a toilet and it's all handled for us.
You don't have to empty any outhouse.
That's pretty great.
Again,
As bad as life might get,
There's a baseline of goodness,
Something we can recognize as a blessing in our life.
Do you have food in your house,
Or could you go get it?
Most of us don't need to work all day to grow and make our food by hand.
We have machines that help us cook without having to gather firewood for hours.
We have machines that store our food at just the right temperature for days so that we don't have to go to the market each day.
So many conveniences.
Do you have a place to go to get your groceries?
Is this something you can recognize and bring your attention to and feel some gratitude for?
For many of us,
We adjust a thermostat and the room gets warmer or colder.
We can turn on the A.
C.
Do you have a car?
Many of us do.
We can enter a vehicle and it takes us where we want to go,
Even if it's far away.
Even if you don't have a car,
There's buses and trains and ferries and planes where other people get us to our destination.
We could get across the country in six hours.
It used to take months.
At the very least,
You're not in jail.
You can come and go as you please.
You don't have to go to jail.
You don't have to go to prison.
You don't have to go to jail.
You don't have to go to prison.
You don't have to go to jail.
You don't have to go to jail.
You don't have to go to jail.
You don't have to go to jail.
You can come and go as you please.
That's so great how lucky we are.
Maybe you're in the middle of a move,
But for most of us,
We're not in the middle of a move.
We don't have to do all that packing and unpacking.
We can just come home and live in our home.
Is there anything else about your home that you can feel some gratitude for,
Some appreciation?
Taking one last deep breath.
Inhaling,
Again,
Into any tension in your body,
And on an exhalation,
Just deeply letting go,
Deeply releasing.
Resting into and opening to whatever you find in your body.
And great job,
Everyone.
