Active meditation exercises utilized by Noral Beats to help facilitate a working relationship with our Higher Self.

This bond with our Higher Self facilitates relaxation,

Better sleep,

Improved learning,

Enriched creativity,

And enhanced intuition.

David Gibson of the Sound Healing Center writes that there is a lot of definitive clinical research on how sound and music can be used to activate the brain and memory,

And create more mental clarity.

High frequencies activate the mind.

We also know that sounds and music that are changing all the time also activate the mind.

On the other hand,

Low frequencies calm the body,

And repetitive sounds and music allow the left brain to go to sleep.

The right brain then takes over,

And we are able to go into a deeper and higher state of consciousness.

Using low frequencies to entrain the brain is helpful for mindfulness,

Being more present,

And connecting to our Source.

By Noral Beats are two separate tones,

That when listened to in each ear,

Preferably with headphones,

Create a direct alteration of our brain waves,

While synchronizing the two hemispheres of our brain.

To understand binaural beats,

We start by understanding brainwave frequencies.

Different parts of our brain vibrate at different rates,

That have been labeled delta,

Theta,

Alpha,

Beta,

And gamma.

There have been many clinical studies using EEG to measure these brainwave rates,

So the science is very definitive.

Additionally,

When the frequencies are played through headphones,

They synchronize the left and right hemispheres of the brain.

Let's get a sense for how these frequencies sound.

Delta,

Less than 4 Hz.

Deep sleep.

Theta,

4 to 7 Hz.

The dream state,

Creativity,

Our portal to the subconscious,

And oneness.

Alpha,

7 to 12 Hz.

Relaxed attention,

Creative problem solving,

Presence.

Beta,

12 to 30 Hz.

Real day-to-day thinking and processing.

Gamma,

30 to 100 Hz.

High state of meditation.

Whenever we experience a vibration within any of these brainwave states,

Our brain will start to vibrate at the same frequency,

Normally in less than a minute.

Science has labeled this the frequency-following response.

Frequencies can be perceived as pulses,

Beats,

Or tones.

Ancient cultures sensed that altered states of consciousness could be generated through the frequency-following response.

They induced brainwave frequencies through drumming.

Examples of this include Native American drumming and shaman drumming.

As the drumbeat is listened to long enough,

The human brain begins to follow the beats,

Which in scientific terms is called entrainment,

Brainwave entrainment.

If the drums are beating at the right frequency,

These beats will induce meditative states.

For example,

A drummer may hold a steady drumbeat with the intent of inducing a meditative state.

This is an example of a shaman drumming journey with Martin Duffy.

From his YouTube channel,

Shamanism Ireland.

He holds a four hertz drumbeat and then describes the practice.

The shamanic journey is a method by which the shaman or the shamanic practitioner moves into that non-ordinary state of consciousness and it involves changing our brainwave states into a deeper meditative state by the use of the drum and use of our imagination where we open our mind's eye to move into those magical mystical realms of the imagination and therefore gain knowledge and information that isn't available to us in ordinary reality.

We have a special rhythm,

Four to seven beats per second,

Which helps to tune the brain into that deeper state of consciousness and then we use our imagination to open up into that realm of the other world and then you let yourself journey into that space flying free of the physical body using your soul energy to move into that place and the information will come back to you either visually or you might get an intuitive sense or you might think about your problem in a different way but you also might feel physical energy changing in your body to get healing for that particular issue that you're working with.

From the Relaxed Guide channel,

YouTube,

Now we move from a shamanic drumming journey at four hertz to Native American drumming at 2.

7 hertz from low theta to delta.

There are three different techniques that we can utilize to entrain the human brain.

Isotronic tones,

Alternating isotronic tones,

And binaural beats.

Isotronic tones are single pulses that are essentially electronic drum beats.

The difference between the two is that isochronic tones are electronically precise,

Whereas the time between drum beats may slightly change due to human limitations.

This is what a mono isochronic tone sounds like.

Alternating isochronic tones are a single tone rotating between our ears.

To take full advantage of these tones and to optimize the impact,

It is best to use headphones or,

Less optimally,

Speakers on either side of your ears.

Listen to alternating isochronic tones.

David Gibson continues,

Synchronized brainwaves have long been associated with meditative states.

Audio,

With properly embedded binaural beats,

Has been proven to induce and improve such states of consciousness.

When listening to speakers with a different frequency in each speaker,

The two waves cancel each other out as they physically meet in space.

However,

When we wear headphones,

The two sounds never meet as the physical brain is in the way.

In order to keep reality consistent,

Our brain creates a third frequency on its own.

This frequency,

Created by the brain,

Connects the two sides of the brain.

When this occurs,

The bridge which connects the two sides of the brain lights up.

When the left and right sides of the brain are connected,

We are operating at our highest potential.

Therefore,

We commonly use binaural beats with headphones to synchronize the brain and light up the bridge.

When two sounds are played that are close to each other in pitch,

We hear an oscillation that is the difference between those two frequencies.

For example,

Simultaneous 50 Hz and 65 Hz tones produce a combined oscillation of 15 cycles per second,

The difference between the two tones.

This is what you hear now under my voice.

Listen to an example of binaural beats.

These low frequency oscillations have been proven in lab research to synchronize and entrain our brains.

We hope you take the time to explore the benefits of binaural beats.

Voice very low, remains in the throat, not projecting thus diffcult to hear. Possibly need to move microphone close to mouth and repost this entry to Insight Timer. Excellent, concise explanation of binaural beats with tonal examples. Thank you.

Brilliant thank you. I needed this clear explanation. I'm now just missing how to use binaural beats. For instance for studying, should I listen for 5 mins and then study or have binaural beats running throughout the study period?
