"I am not asked to make a sacrifice to find the mercy and the peace of God." This lesson says that spiritual growth and finding peace do not require sacrifice. It teaches that God's plan brings joy and fulfillment without asking us to give up anything of true value. The lesson encourages us to understand that giving is not loss but gain, as we are created to be like God, who gives eternally without taking away. By embracing this truth, we recognize that our true nature is complete and lacks nothing and that salvation is a free gift that must be freely given and received. A Course in Miracles,

Lesson 343 I am not asked to make a sacrifice to find the mercy and the peace of God.

The end of suffering cannot be lost.

The gift of everything can only be gain.

Father,

You only give,

You never take away.

Father,

You created me to be like you,

So sacrifice becomes impossible for me as well as for you.

I too must give,

And so all things are given unto me forever and forever.

As I was created,

I remain.

Father,

Your child can make no sacrifice.

Your child must be complete,

Having the function of completing you.

Father,

I am complete because I am your child.

I cannot lose,

For I can only give.

I cannot lose,

Everything is mine eternally.

The mercy and the peace of God are free.

Salvation has no cost.

Salvation is a gift that must be freely given and received.

It is this that we would learn today.

The end of suffering cannot be lost.

The gift of everything can only be gain.

Nothing real can be threatened.

Nothing unreal exists.

Herein lies the peace of God.
