A Course in Miracles,
Lesson 210 Review,
Lesson 190 I choose the joy of God instead of pain.
In this meditation,
Nothing is required,
Except a deep relinquishment of everything that clutters our mind.
Quieting our mind gives us freedom.
Feel your mind relax your body,
Prepare for meditation.
Give these times of silence to your inner teacher,
Your higher self,
Who instructs in quiet,
Who speaks of peace.
Give these times of silence to the teacher who gives your thoughts whatever meaning they may have.
Permit no idle thought to go unchallenged.
If you notice an idle thought,
Assure your mind that this thought is not what your mind would have.
Then,
Gently replace the thought.
Say to your mind,
This thought I do not want.
I choose instead the joy of God instead of pain.
Now,
As we commune with our higher self,
Say to yourself,
Say in your mind,
I am not a body,
I am free.
I am still as God created me.
I choose the joy of God instead of pain.
Pain is my own idea.
It is not a thought of God,
But one I thought,
Apart from Him and apart from His will.
His will is joy,
And only joy,
For His beloved child.
I choose joy instead of what I made.
Ponder on this.
We give these times of silence to our inner teacher,
To our higher self.
Our higher self instructs in quiet.
Our higher self speaks of peace.
We give these times of silence to our teacher,
Who gives our thoughts whatever meaning they may have.
To facilitate our silence,
We put aside all we think we know.
To facilitate our silence,
We put aside all that we think we understand.
This thought I do not want.
I choose instead the joy of God instead of pain.
Pain is my own idea.
It is not a thought of God.
Pain is an idea that I thought,
A thought apart from God,
A thought apart from God's will.
God's will is joy,
And only joy for His beloved child.
I choose joy instead of what I made.
I am not a body.
I am free.
I am still as God created me.
I choose the joy of God instead of pain.
Pain is my own idea.
It is not a thought of God.
Pain is an idea that I think.
Pain is a thought apart from God.
Pain is a thought apart from God's will.
God's will is joy,
And only joy for His beloved child.
I choose joy instead of the thoughts I made.
I am not a body.
I am free.
I am still as God created me.
I choose the joy of God instead of pain.
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.
