Tonight,
We travel gently to the banks of the beautiful Yamuna river.
The air is cool,
The moon is softly shining on our face.
There's a soft scent of night jasmine blooming.
And the village of Vrindavan that was once hustling and bustling is quiet now.
The sky is a jet black with scattered stars everywhere.
You find yourself walking slowly along a soft path in the earth.
You hear the sound of crickets,
The last leaves falling down.
And suddenly you hear a distant flute.
A melodious flute being played in the distance,
Floating straight to your ears.
You follow the sound effortlessly,
As if you've always known the way.
You walk slowly through the winding paths,
Somehow like your ears know where to go.
Or your heart knows where to go.
And as you walk there beneath the Kadamba tree,
You see him,
Krishna.
Seated,
Dressed in this beautiful yellow dhoti,
Peacock flower on his hair.
A fresh garland around his neck.
His face so calm,
And playing this flute with his eyes closed.
His hands so delicate,
His skin the colour of a rain-bearing cloud.
His presence,
One that invokes calmness,
That invokes love.
That invokes security in you.
His music is not something you just hear.
It feels like something your heart remembers from a time long ago.
You sit down close to him.
He doesn't open his eyes.
You notice the ground is cool,
The night is still.
And with every note,
Something inside you starts to soften,
To relax.
Like the heavy things you've been carrying in your mind are being pulled away by those notes of music.
Like the muscles that were tight from all the work you've been doing,
The load you've been carrying,
Is finally able to breathe.
You notice your breath soften.
You notice your jaws relax.
You notice your eyes start to get heavy.
There's no conversation.
Just you and him,
And the music.
And there's no need for words,
Because this presence,
This quietness,
Is transformative on its own.
You hear the river flowing in the background as you close your eyes.
And you feel like nothing is missing.
Like everything is exactly as it should be.
Exactly as it should be.
Www.
Mooji.
