This is Yelena Theofilates and in today's practice I will be inviting you to cultivate a safe space.
A space where you can fully relax and unwind.
And you can begin by taking some time to settle in by finding a comfortable position to be in right now.
Allowing yourself to feel supported by the chair or the floor or anything else you're leaning on.
And you can allow your eyes to gently close whenever you're ready and take a few relaxing and easeful breaths.
Each breath in allows your body to grow more comfortable and each breath out provides a soothing release.
You can allow your breath to find,
Slowly but surely,
Its most natural and comfortable rhythm.
Simply releasing the breath,
Trusting that it can sort itself out just like it does when you sleep and to help your whole system to restore and recuperate.
And while you're breathing in this gentle and nourishing way you can deepen this experience of comfort by imagining yourself in a very special place.
It can be a real place,
A place where you actually have been to.
Maybe it's a beautiful spot in nature or a comfortable place in your own home.
You may know that place well or have never seen it before.
Your special place may be an imaginary place.
A place in fairytales,
Indoors or outdoors.
Should more than one place come to mind,
You can allow yourself to stay with one of them.
The only thing that matters is that it is a place in which you feel completely comfortable and safe.
You can begin to appreciate this place by becoming curious about its sights and sounds,
Smelling the pleasant aromas perhaps,
Feeling just the right temperature of the air as it touches your skin.
And you can explore that place by looking around,
Touching and feeling the whole environment that you're in.
Perhaps you can even notice what are you wearing,
The time of the year,
The time of the day.
And as you imagine this place,
You can think if there is anything else that would make this place more comfortable for you.
Perhaps something you need to remove from that place or something you would like to bring in.
If you would like to bring someone or something else into this space,
You can do it now.
You can continue savoring what it is like for you to be in a special place like this one,
Breathing naturally,
Enjoying the feelings of relaxation and comfort.
You can know that you can return to this place any time you wish to relax and be replenished by doing something very simple,
Just like what you're doing now.
Closing your eyes and allowing yourself to be immersed into positive imagery,
Pleasant sounds,
And all the sensations that you're feeling right now.
Positive imagery,
Pleasant sounds,
And all the sensations that are telling you that you are safe to relax and be.
You can take as much time as you want to and have to continue to savor all of those pleasant feelings breath by breath.
And when you're ready,
Or if you need to continue on with your day,
You can slowly but surely bring this practice to a comfortable close.
Taking all the feelings that you have cultivated back with you and then allowing your eyes to open,
Reorienting back into the room fully and completely.
