A moment to pause,
To breathe and to gently arrive into the present moment.
Let's begin the meditation,
Gently close or soften your eyes to a gaze and allow your body to settle,
Your shoulders to soften and your jaw relaxed and bring your awareness to your breath.
Take a slow breath in and a gentle breath out.
Again,
Breathing in and breathing out.
Let your breath be easy,
Natural,
Steady.
Now bring your awareness into your body,
Feeling the support beneath you,
Grounding you.
Let your whole body soften just a little more.
Now gently bring your attention to your heart space.
Imagine your breath flowing in and out of your heart,
Breathing in,
Softening and breathing out,
Letting go,
Letting go,
Letting go.
Today's meditation is about honouring motherhood,
Whether your mother is here or lives in your heart and memories and whether you are a mother or have shared care,
Kindness and nurturing in your own way.
This is a space of gratitude,
Connection and gentle reflection.
Now imagine yourself in a peaceful place,
Somewhere calm,
Safe and comforting.
Perhaps a quiet garden with soft sunlight around you or a place that feels meaningful to you.
Take a moment to settle here and now gently invite the presence of your mother.
If she is living,
Imagine her here beside you and if she has passed,
Feel her presence in a way that feels right for you.
A memory,
A feeling,
A sense of love.
Take your time,
Notice what arises in your heart and gently begin to offer gratitude for the life you were given,
For the moments shared,
For the love in whatever way it was expressed.
Even the smallest things,
Let gratitude softly fill your heart and if your feelings are mixed or your relationship feels complex,
That's okay.
Simply acknowledge whatever is there with kindness.
There is space here for all of it.
Now allow that feeling in your heart to gently expand,
A soft warmth growing,
Spreading through your body.
Now bring to mind kindness,
Moments of care,
Gentle words,
Support you have received or given.
Let that feeling deepen and now joy,
Simple moments,
Laughter,
Connection.
Allow yourself to feel that even just a little.
And from this space begin to send love to your mother.
May you be peaceful,
May you be surrounded by love,
May you be at ease.
Now sending that same kindness to yourself,
May I be kind to myself,
May I feel peace,
May I allow joy into my life.
And now letting everything settle,
Resting in this space of warmth,
Gratitude and quiet calm.
Now gently bring your awareness back to your breath,
The body,
The space around you.
Wiggling your fingers and toes and taking a deep breath in and a slow breath out.
