I'm Jonna and welcome to Morning Body Scan.
Find a comfortable seat and gently begin to close your eyes.
Take one breath together,
Inhaling and exhaling.
Take a moment to notice what the body feels like right now.
We're going to begin our body scan.
Bring your awareness to the crown of your head and focus on releasing tension anywhere in the body as I cue you.
Notice if there's any tension in the crown of the head.
If so,
Release it there.
Move to the back of the head,
The eyes,
Ears,
All the sensations inside the head,
The nose,
Sinuses,
Tongue can soften,
Throat,
The jaw.
Notice the neck,
The shoulders can they soften,
The forearms,
All the way down to the hands.
Can your chest soften as you inhale?
Notice your ribs.
Notice your belly emptying as you exhale.
Perhaps you can soften there.
Notice the pelvis and the tailbone and the thighs where they touch the seat or the ground below you and the knees all the way down to the ankles and the feet.
Notice your body as a whole.
Is there anywhere in your body that tension can be released?
If so,
Soften that part right now.
Let's take one breath as we focus on an intention for the day.
And this intention will serve as your compass to guide you through the day.
It's not a goal,
But rather a way of being.
Bring to mind just one or two words,
Perhaps courageous,
Curious,
Gentle,
Powerful,
Whatever comes to mind.
Let that intention be known by the mind.
You can say it to yourself in your head or out loud.
And place your hand on your heart and hold that intention in your heart for the day.
You can let your arm rest and gently open your eyes.
