So whenever we're dealing with complexity,
There's kind of two movements that we might want to make.
One is like what we've been practicing a lot.
It's like the side of like care,
Stepping back,
The side of that paradox where sometimes doing nothing,
Just resting,
Is where something more clear emerges or maybe something that feels a little more okay emerges.
So let's kind of start in that direction and then I'll bring us into the potential for the second step here as we go.
But for me right now,
It's just seeing,
You know,
What's possible for me now that I'm here and it's time to meditate.
So what does seem to be possible,
Just in my experience right now,
Is to have a seated posture,
Trend towards my eyes closing.
Sometimes that can be the hardest thing to just show up,
Even after showing up,
Just like holding a posture and even wanting to close the eyes.
And sometimes that's the easiest thing.
It's like,
Oh,
I feel so good right now.
So what I want to invite you towards is just checking in with your experience,
What does feel possible and good.
And in that possibility,
You might just see some trending towards movements.
So we can welcome that.
I notice it's easier to have eyes open and look around than just having eyes closed.
Welcoming whatever feels comfortable there,
Even if it's eyes open with a soft gaze,
Or even if it's just not really having to worry about it,
You know,
Welcoming your eyes to just be open and just look around.
Any thinking,
Any mind wandering.
Actually going to invite the mind to bring that forward as much as it wants or needs to here.
And we'll also welcome any stillness or any quietness,
If the mind lets that come forward.
And the next place I'd invite us towards is one of,
I say ease,
But really tangibly,
Does anything feel easy right now?
What's easy right now?
Is it easy just to sit?
Is it easy just to breathe?
Is it easy just to continue?
Just know that you can be here and be guided.
Is it easy to be dull,
Rest,
Relax?
Or is it easy to be clear,
Energized?
Whether that's a pleasant energy or an agitated one.
Maybe it's just easy to listen,
Hear sound.
And in the body,
Maybe it's easy to be still or move or mix it both.
Some stillness here,
Some movement there.
So a few more moments in this space of whatever we feel like this is supposed to be or how meditation is supposed to go.
I'm not really worrying about that as much as worrying about what's easy.
Just letting whatever is easy just be allowed for now.
Even thinking,
Meaning-making.
Be easy if that's the easiest thing right now.
And from this space,
I hope you'll feel that you have all the permission in the world,
You know,
All the support that you would need here.
Maybe just to be,
To do nothing,
To let this be easy.
Let this be the easiest thing.
And even if the easiest thing is sort of seeing,
Ah,
This is a lot.
This is complex right now.
I don't know what comes next.
I know that's the case.
And it feels pretty easy to say that's the case.
And especially if it feels easy to move into this place,
Which I would say is that next step I referred towards earlier,
Which would be,
Is there any like resource,
Any familiarity here?
Specifically,
Is there anything that feels okay or good amidst the backdrop and the sea of whatever our experience is?
Anything that might be our guiding light?
Like,
Ah,
This is here now.
This is okay.
It might even be okay for now.
If you'd like to take that a step further of seeing if there's anything enjoyable,
Pleasant,
Even preferable.
These are the two directions that we can go in from here,
Just knowing,
Just really seeing and playing around from our experience.
Even if we want to experience something that's okay,
Or look towards what might feel good,
That might not actually feel good.
And that's a good sign.
If doing something,
Connecting and looking for what feels good doesn't,
Great time to take it easy.
Great time to try to do nothing.
And just notice what happens.
And then try again.
And if you're connecting with what's okay,
What's even pleasant,
This is where we might notice a certain enjoyment or even potential and complexity.
We've got enough familiarity,
Comfort,
Confidence even with all these ingredients that are here.
And what might feel like the most fun thing is to cook with those ingredients,
Experiment with them,
As opposed to taking a break from cooking.
So if something is feeling in that space of like potential energy,
Enjoyment,
Just knowing what that is now.
Something feels good.
What is it that feels good?
Where can we notice this goodness in our experience?
And same thing here,
Noticing that brings forward more awareness,
More connection with that experience,
More clarity on what it is,
Where it is,
And a capacity to just be with it.
Move in that direction.
And if the exploration of that,
Bringing it forward,
Doesn't feel possible,
Or even just brings forward an answer of I don't know.
Great time to just sit back and hang out.
And we'll just wait and wait and see if there's something we do know.
And wherever you're landing here,
You might see potential and possibility in each of these,
Even cycling through each of them.
Various moments of your meditation and your experience.
Is it more just kind of stepping back?
Not knowing that what feels good?
Or is it leaning in?
Knowing something feels good.
Really just letting that come forward,
Encouraging it to come forward.
Maybe that's what works.
There's never any right or wrong here.
Just recognition,
Just knowing what's attuned for you,
What feels helpful,
Just good in your own experience.
I'll leave you here for just a few minutes of silence.
Just enjoy and savor either direction you're moving here.
Just the final guidance I'll give here is maybe one last check-in of where you're landing,
And of all the possibilities.
Whether it feels more at ease,
More energetic,
More clear,
More agitated,
More pleasure,
Less pleasure,
Whatever it is,
Whatever ingredients are here now,
Just knowing that that really is the case,
Just in that recognition.
That really is your experience,
And we can trust that regardless of the outcome.
We can trust that this is where you're landing right now,
And maybe even welcome it.
Maybe just noticing how that possibility even feels,
Just bring that recognition.
Yes,
This is your experience.
And then just taking your time,
We'll finish here and see how it is to land back into not meditating.
Eyes open,
Seeing each other,
Being with each other,
Anticipating going back into your day.
