Hi,
Welcome to this 5 minute grounding meditation.
You can come back and listen to it as many times as you need.
Start with sailing yourself into a comfortable position.
Allowing your body to relax and feel supported.
You can close your eyes gently or keep a soft unfocused gaze.
While you're taking a moment to settle in,
Try to feel the weight of your body.
Notice how your body connects with the surface beneath you.
Your sit bones on the chair,
Your feet on the floor.
Really feel that point of contact.
Allow your shoulders to drop and gently relax your jaw.
Take a slow deep breath in and exhale slowly,
Feeling your body sink a little deeper.
Now,
Bring your attention to your breath.
There is no need to change how you're breathing.
Just simply observe it.
Notice the air as it enters your nose and as it leaves out your mouth.
Feel your chest or belly gently rise and fall with each breath.
As you breathe,
Imagine each inhale drawing calm,
Stable energy into your body.
And each exhale releasing any tension or busyness.
Take another deep breath in through your nose and exhale out through your mouth.
For the next few minutes we'll focus on feeling rooted and connected to the earth.
Bring your awareness to your feet or your hips.
Imagine roots growing from these points of contact,
Extending down through the floor or the ground deep into the earth.
Visualize these roots spreading wide and deep,
Anchoring you firmly.
Feel a sense of stability and support rising up from the earth through these roots into your body.
As you continue to breathe,
Let each inhale strengthen these roots,
Drawing up a sense of calm strength from deep within the earth.
With each exhale,
Release anything you don't need into the earth.
Any stress,
Worry or restless energy.
Feel yourself becoming more solid,
More present,
More here.
Your mind may still wander and that's perfectly okay.
When you notice your thoughts drifting,
Gently acknowledge them and then without judgment,
Guide your attention back to the feeling of your body rooted to the earth and to the steady rhythm of your breath.
Each time you bring your focus back,
You are reinforcing that feeling of being grounded.
We will now spend a few moments in silence,
Allowing you to keep observing your breath and feeling grounded.
For these final moments,
Just continue to rest in the awareness of your body's connection to the earth and the steady flow of your breath.
Feel the solidity,
The support,
The calmness that comes from being fully present and connected.
Let any tension melt away,
Leaving you feeling centered and secure.
When you're ready,
Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to your body and the space that you are in.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Gently open your eyes and take a moment to appreciate this feeling of groundedness you've cultivated.
Every time you meditate,
You're building a habit of presence and awareness.
Take one final gentle breath in and a slow releasing breath out.
Namaste.
