Welcome to this meditation to support you through your cravings as you are now breaking a bad habit or several bad habits.
You have intense cravings as you're now experiencing your withdrawal.
There are chemical processes in your brain right now that you just can't control with your dopamine levels.
You're probably experiencing a crash,
Which is completely natural and now your job is to accept that all of these processes are now being allowed to be recalibrated to find back to their natural levels that actually serve you.
I want you to sit down somewhere comfortable or you can lay down if you want to and begin by closing your eyes and take a conscious deep breath in through your nose and slowly exhale with your mouth and repeat that a few times.
Inhale through the nose,
Exhale through the mouth slowly and just allow all the physical tension in your body to be released.
You may have some nervous energy as you're experiencing the craving.
Many parts of your body and many parts of your mind will probably want to find a fix,
To find a way out,
To find a way to solve it or to satisfy it.
They will all soften if you can soften.
The more you relax,
The more you just give into the feeling without resisting it,
The more those feelings of unease will also soften.
And now as you continue to breathe normally,
Imagine that you're breathing through your heart.
So when you breathe in,
The breath is passing through your heart and as you exhale,
The breath is passing through your heart.
Focus on your heart space as you breathe a little deeper than you normally would but in a comfortable way.
Notice your jaw and your neck and shoulders especially,
That there's no tension there.
Just relax your whole face.
And focus on your heart.
And now if you can keep a little bit of focus still on your heart,
That's good.
And then the rest of your attention is now placed on the feeling of the craving itself.
If you can seem to locate that right now,
I want you to just feel the craving and its purest,
Rawest form.
Let go of all the labels that you've put on it.
Let go of whatever your mind is telling you.
Just let that drift by.
As if you were feeling this feeling for the first time and you didn't even know where it came from,
What would it feel like then?
So let go of your notions,
Your labels,
Your need to control it,
Your need to fix it.
Just feel it with a sense of curiosity and open-mindedness.
Where is it located in your body?
What color does it have?
Is it moving around?
Does it hurt?
And what if this feeling wasn't a craving at all?
What would it be then?
What is this sensation really?
Is it really painful?
Is it really uncomfortable?
Or was that something that you told yourself that it was?
And now feel the feeling with this perspective that this is the feeling of freedom.
This is the sensation of the conscious choice that you made to take back control of your life.
Just feel how safe you are.
Feel how everything is just okay.
That you are handling it.
If you can,
Find some pleasure in the feeling of the craving.
Taste that pleasure.
Maybe even make it a little enjoyable.
At least be curious.
And now you can take another deep breath in through your nose and slowly out through the mouth.
As you slowly come back to the room you're in,
You can open your eyes.
Notice the first thing you see.
And stretch or just take another deep breath if you need to.
And come back to this meditation anytime you're really struggling with intense cravings or for some other reason need to hear this.
Thank you for joining me,
Best of luck,
And I hope to catch you another time.
