Welcome to my series of New World Prayers.
Private prayer or compassionate mindfulness can help regulate our emotions which can in turn help regulate our blood pressure and our state of mind.
These prayers can give us hope and help us self-actualize.
In this series we will be focusing on the natural world and the gifts it offers us every day.
This prayer is a secular prayer.
It is a prayer to the wind to bring us calm in the storm.
Begin by sitting in a comfortable position.
Now gently bring your attention to your breathing.
And if any thoughts or feelings come to mind,
Just notice them.
Then watch as they float away.
This is your time to relax and fully let go.
O powerful wind,
Send me protection and peace against the chaos in my life.
I pray you will calm my heart in the midst of uncertainty and put my mind at ease.
O forceful winds,
Teach me patience and clarity that I may remain focused upon your will.
I pray you will show me your ways and teach me your paths.
O tender winds,
Make me as strong as the oak and as flexible as the birch.
Fill my heart with your compassion and rest upon my back,
That I may move forwards in peace and in gratitude,
Safe in the knowledge I have you by my side.
Amen.
And as we say this prayer one more time,
Let each word become part of your system of beliefs,
And you may practice every day to bring you clarity and focus.
