I Am Nurtured By The Rain: A Poem

It's easy sometimes to only wish for clear, sunny days. But just like plants need the rain to survive and flourish, gray times in our life are sometimes what we need to grow. This poem is a reminder of the power of rainy days.

I am nurtured by the rain.

A seed needs more than just the sun to sprout and grow up tall.

It needs those heavy days of gray when the ready raindrops fall.

I need the rain to come on down and sink into the earth so that my roots can reach into the deep and drink away their thirst.

The sun will always rise and set.

The clouds will pass on by.

The plants will grow then wither,

And I know that so will I.

I am nurtured by the rain,

So let it fall if it will.

Let the sky storm above,

Because I'll be standing still.
