Hello,
And welcome to today's meditation.
Creating is a natural part of being human.
We were born to learn and make things,
And many people feel this impulse to create as strongly as they feel the urge to eat.
But why is this process so innate to each of us,
Sometimes so frustrating?
We are each of us connected to the universal creative source.
We are an instrument that the source uses to bring things into this world,
Be it a painting,
A novel,
A bridge,
Or a technological innovation.
And what we create will be unique because we ourselves are unique.
But oftentimes,
Rather than letting ourselves be a conduit for creative energy,
Our ego gets in the way.
Sometimes this presents as a desire for money or recognition,
Or sometimes just for a particular envisioned outcome.
But the ego and its attachment to outcomes can inhibit our creativity or divert us from what we are actually called to make.
Sometimes it can choke us up so badly that it impedes our ability to create at all.
But as it says in the Tao,
Therefore the sage produces without possessing,
Acts without expectations,
And accomplishes without abiding in her accomplishments.
We have to love the things we do in order to do them well,
Love to do them regardless of the outcome.
We have to learn to create and then release.
In this meditation,
We are going to use visualization to help open our connection to creative energy and to release blockages.
Take a comfortable seated position.
We are going to start with three deep breaths in and out and out.
I want you to imagine a ball of light above your head.
Slowly,
Energy begins pouring out of this ball,
Like a waterfall,
And it gently flows down into your head.
It softly fills and caresses your face,
The back of your head,
Down your neck,
Into your shoulders and down into your arms.
The light reaches your hands.
Bring your hands together and let the light pour out from each of them and create a little ball.
Hold your little ball of light and then let it go.
Release it back to the universe.
Let's do this again,
But this time I want you to ask for guidance regarding a creative project or even just a problem you're having trouble with.
I ask for divine guidance and am open to receive inspiration now.
Take a deep breath.
Let the light flow again down your head,
Your neck,
Your shoulders,
Your arms,
And back into your hands.
This time,
We're going to use our ball to release expectations.
Let your little ball fill with your worries about outcomes,
Your attachment to your own judgment.
Hold it and now just let it go.
Release it to the universe and let yourself be free from it.
You can let yourself relax when you create.
You are connected to a divine source and you don't need to worry about how it's going to turn out.
Your only job is to do the work and do it joyfully.
Thank you for joining me.
Have a beautiful day.
