Welcome,
This is a moment you can take for yourself,
A small pause in your day and a place to return gently to you.
Simply let yourself be here right now,
For the next few minutes,
Nothing is required of you,
And you might close your eyes or keep a soft unfocused gaze,
Whatever feels easiest in your body right now,
Let the breath arrive in its own way,
Feel the air moving in and when the breath leaves,
Simply let it flow back out,
Again the breath comes and the breath goes,
Not forcing it to be any longer or more powerful than it already is,
Simply breathing in and breathing out,
You might start to notice the places that you are carrying the day within your body,
Perhaps you feel it in your shoulders,
Maybe in the jaw or even the space between the eyes,
Noticing where the day is sitting is enough,
Now gently bring your awareness to what's supporting you right now,
The surface beneath your body,
The way that you are being held without having to hold yourself,
Gravity is already doing the work,
In this moment you don't need to improve anything and you don't need to arrive anywhere,
Being here is enough,
If your attention begins to wander,
That's allowed,
And each time you notice it drifting away,
You can gently return your awareness to the sensation of breathing or to the feeling of being supported,
Noticing is the practice,
As the breath continues you might quietly offer yourself these words,
I am gentle,
I am strong,
I am steady,
I am for a few moments longer,
Moving at your own rhythm,
Nothing to solve,
Nothing to achieve,
Only being here in this moment,
This one breath,
And then the next,
When you feel ready,
Without rushing,
You can begin to return,
Perhaps starting with a small movement,
A wiggle of the fingers or the toes,
Maybe a stretch overhead or out to the sides,
A gentle reawakening,
And as your attention shifts outward,
Invite some of this softness that you've just created to come along with you back into your day,
This soft space is always here for you to return to.
