A warm welcome to this soothing sleep story and meditation,
Where you will spend a relaxing evening in your very own cozy cabin.
And enjoy a night by the crackling fire,
Surrounded by shimmering stars,
And accompanied by your best friend.
Before we begin,
We will do a short relaxation session,
Preparing you for a good night's sleep please remember that there is no right or wrong here and there is no particular way that you should feel in these moments Each experience is as unique as us all,
So try to let go of any pressure you might be putting on yourself to feel certain things or perhaps to fall asleep quickly tonight.
It doesn't matter if you do or you don't.
If you simply follow my voice and allow this story to wash over you then you will enter a world of deep relaxation where you can rest and recover.
So,
When you are ready,
Just feel the eyelids becoming heavier and heavier with each passing blink,
Until they gently close.
Remind yourself that this is your time to relax.
There is nothing left to do and nothing left to think about.
The day is done now.
Whatever has happened is already in the past.
And here,
In this moment,
The future is beyond our reach.
So,
If thoughts arise about the day or the week that has been,
Or the days ahead of you,
Then acknowledge that these thoughts are completely normal and valid.
They are part of what makes us human,
Which is a wonderful thing.
But also,
Kindly remind yourself that these thoughts or concerns are of no use to us now.
There is no need to engage with them.
They are simply thoughts,
As fleeting as shooting stars across a night sky.
You are safe tonight and you are protected.
You can be reassured by the fact that my voice and this story will never take you anywhere that is unpleasant.
Your sleepy cat is simply here to guide you on your own twilight adventures and to help you enter a world of magic and peace where you can be completely free.
And now,
We will do a short,
Guided breathing pattern called 3-4-5.
This will allow you to slow down and relax,
Preparing your body and your mind for a wonderful,
Peaceful rest.
When you are ready,
Breathe in through the nose for three.
For four.
And breathe out for five.
Let all of it go now.
Again,
That's in for three.
Hold for 4.
And release,
Blowing away the thoughts of yesterday,
Today and tomorrow.
Again,
In for three.
Home.
And let it go.
Continue to breathe in this way in your own time and with each breath out,
Allow your body to sink just that bit deeper.
And now.
Allow the breath to fall back into a natural rhythm.
Enjoy this new relaxation and peace flowing through your body.
Allow your mind to soften and your imagination to come alive as we begin tonight's adventure in your cozy cabin.
You find yourself wandering through a small grove of trees on the borders of a sweeping forest,
Where dense leaves of green and gold are rippling in the afternoon breeze.
The fresh spring air is cool and crisp and it is wonderful to breathe in.
You are out collecting some firewood for this evening.
And so far,
Your little wicker basket is only half full.
And so,
As you wind through this ever-thinning grove of trees,
You continue to add to your collection.
Picking up the driest logs and sticks you can find.
Tonight,
Your best friend is joining you and they are waiting for you back at the cabin,
Making it all nice and cozy for your return and preparing some herbal tea.
The forest lies on your right-hand side,
And beyond its thick border,
You can feel a distant hum,
Riding on the wind and weaving through the trees.
It seems to wrap around you,
Reminding you that you are protected by this forest.
And that you are safe in this land.
This is the perfect place to escape to and to find a wonderful solitude.
Here,
There is only peace.
Your journey home takes you by a small trickling stream that curves and bends around the trunks of the trees.
The stream is full of small blue pebbles,
Like little marbles shimmering under the surface.
You reach into the water and pick up a single pebble.
It dries almost instantly in your palm.
And its outer shell is as smooth as silk.
Inside,
It seems to pulse in slow motion.
Giving off a gentle blue light.
This light fills you with a sense of calm.
And you follow the slow pulse with your breath now allowing your mind to become quiet.
And letting your body relax.
And now,
With a basket full to the brim with firewood,
You arrive at the end of the grove.
The forest is far behind you now,
And in front of you stands a perfect little log cabin.
The windows are radiating the soft orange glow of firelight.
And a gentle silver steam rises from the chimney.
Beyond the cabin rests a beautiful blue lake.
Rippling with tiny waves on the wind.
And behind this is a vast landscape of forests,
Mountains,
And waterfalls,
All kissed by the golden light of the now setting sun.
It's as if you have entered your very own paradise,
Crafted and created just for you.
Down to your right is a small but dense lavender bush.
And before you venture back to your cabin,
You forage a thick handful of this fresh and rich lavender.
Taking in a slow inhale of the flowers and placing them in your basket as you imagine the wonderful addition this will make to your tea this evening.
You shuffle towards your front door.
Unlock it and push it open with a loud echoing creak.
Immediately,
You are met by the soothing warmth from the crackling fire in the corner of the room,
Tucked away in a stone hearth.
You take a deep breath in and smile.
Knowing that you are home for the night.
Over on the far side of the cabin is a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the lake.
And the landscape beyond.
There are two armchairs and a big sofa all facing outwards,
Ready to enjoy the view.
And this is one of your favorite places to rest.
And then,
In one of the armchairs,
You spot your best friend.
Their head dropped to one shoulder,
Giving a quiet snore.
It was in fact their job this evening to prepare the tea,
But it seems the comforting enchantments of this cabin might have gotten the better of them.
You decide to let them rest a little while longer and to take over the job of preparing the tea tonight.
So you place the firewood down by the hearth and wander into the kitchen.
Your fresh bunch of lavender in hand.
You fill a cast iron kettle with water and pop it on the stove Then you carefully crumple the lavender in your palms and sprinkle it into the water.
You slice a lemon and put a single wedge into two large tankards.
Then you pick a few stems of chamomile from the windowsill.
Again,
You crumple them in your hands and add them to the tea.
Your palms smell utterly divine.
Beautiful blend of lavender and chamomile that instantly fills you with peace.
And comfort.
Just then,
You feel a tap on your shoulder and you are met by the sleepy smile of your friends.
They apologize for drifting off on the armchair and admit it's been a very long day.
You reassure them that it's not a problem.
You are happy to help tonight.
As the tea comes to a boil and bubbles away gently,
The two of you have a quiet conversation about your day and your week.
You use this opportunity to just release anything that might have been bothering you recently.
You know that your best friend will always be there to listen,
With an open ear and an open heart.
You find that just speaking your thoughts,
Releasing them out into the open and trusting your friend with these really helps to alleviate a lot of worry and heaviness.
You feel your chest loosening your mind and your thoughts become just that bit clearer.
And your breath becomes slow and steady.
Your body is starting to regulate itself.
And finding that perfect balance tonight.
And now,
You feel ready to go even deeper into a state of peace.
Of comfort and tranquility.
And by now,
The tea is almost ready.
Your friend gestures for you to sit as they finish the preparation.
You move slowly over to your favorite spot in the house.
The armchair right by the fire.
You add a few more logs and stoke the flames a little more.
As you sit,
You take the smooth blue pebble from your pocket and place it on the arm of the chair.
It acts like a mini nightlight,
Pulsing with its comforting blue glow.
Again,
You allow your breath to slow down and to follow this pulsing orb.
You just close your eyes for a moment,
Breathing in the warm air,
The hints of lavender tracing through the cabin,
And giving yourself permission to sink even deeper into this lovely chair.
You breathe in.
And out.
In.
Out.
You blink open your eyes and see a fresh mug of lavender and chamomile tea on the coffee table beside you.
You smile at your friends.
Clink your mugs together and take your first sip.
It is simply perfect.
The lavender is the dominant flavor coating your tongue.
Followed by the notes of chamomile and just a hint of lemon singing through.
But also one last flavor.
Honey,
Your friend tells you,
A bit of sweetness to finish.
Yes.
Simply perfect.
You have suspicions that this land and the forest beyond is enchanted with deep magic.
For the lavender and the chamomile are much more potent than what you are used to.
Almost instantly you feel your forehead and your brow softening completely.
Your eyes become so heavy,
And each blink feels like it lasts a few seconds.
You feel a warmth trickling through your muscles and your joints,
Allowing you to let go just that bit more.
To sink into your chair and to simply relax.
Gradually you go deeper.
Deeper and deeper.
This is your haven,
A place to come for peace and quiet.
For rest and rejuvenation.
For time alone or time with friends and to feel completely safe and comforted.
You continue to sip your tea and now your focus moves from inside the cabin to outside the window.
Where the last light of the sunset is shimmering in deep orange on the lake.
And slowly moving up the distant mountain peaks.
It is a majestic image.
The mountains resemble strength and endurance.
The forests are a celebration of life.
Of nature and of growth.
The lake itself is a symbol of stillness.
Of peace and of contentment.
As the sun fades from view entirely,
It is replaced almost instantly with a perfect full moon.
Glistening like a giant pearl high above you.
The stars begin to reveal themselves one by one.
Twinkling in their own unique patterns and illuminating their little pockets of the vast night sky.
With the arrival of the moon comes something else.
A symphony of sorts that wraps around you like a warm embrace.
The stars are singing you to sleep,
And they will watch over you all through the night.
They will guard your dreams and they will help you to find a deep state of rest.
And it's within this state where your mind is.
Your body and your soul shall heal.
The image of the night sky flickers and reflects on the lake,
Creating a double display of starlight,
As if you are inside your very own cosmic bubble.
A bubble that is safe and warm.
That is cozy and comforting.
And that is made especially for you.
Your breath is so slow and so deep.
You are becoming completely at one with this enchanting land.
And you are trusting yourself so much more.
You know that you can release everything.
You put your mug on the table and you hear your friend placing more logs on the fire.
This will keep it burning all through the night,
Filling the cabin with warmth.
And comfort.
Often,
The most beautiful things in life are the most simple.
A cup of tea with a dear friend.
A moment of solitude and reflection.
A chance to walk through nature.
To feel the warmth of a real fire.
To gaze up at the eternal starlight kingdom and to wonder to enjoy a deep rest in a comfy armchair.
And to drift so slowly,
So effortlessly into the most wonderful sleep.
