Escape for a while and visualize a calming cove with a warm pool and a gentle waterfall. As you immerse yourself in the water, you will feel the muscles in your body gradually becoming more relaxed, and free from the burdens of everyday life, before drifting off into a deep, peaceful sleep. A wonderful meditation for insomnia, nighttime anxiety, and relaxation.

A warm welcome to this guided sleep meditation.

Tonight you will use the power of imagination as we enter a magical and healing cove.

Inside the cove is a hidden pool with the power to heal and cleanse your body and your mind.

Find a comfortable position to lie down and allow your eyes to gently close when you are ready.

Begin by gently scanning your body from head to toe and just try to check in with each area.

Acknowledging how it feels and noticing any areas that are carrying more tension tonight.

Don't try to change anything right now,

Simply acknowledge how your body is feeling and allow yourself to observe it without judgment.

It has been a difficult and complicated time and it's natural to carry tension and stress,

So try not to be too hard on yourself.

The important thing is that you're here now.

You have taken this step to look after yourself and for that you should be incredibly proud.

Continue to scan your body now,

Notice each area and move on like a passing breeze.

And slowly now bring your awareness to your breath.

Allow it to be slow and deep,

In through the nose and out through the mouth.

Remind yourself that this is your time to relax.

There is nothing left to do and nothing left to think.

The day is done now,

Whatever has happened is already in the past and here in this moment the future is beyond our reach.

So if thoughts arise about the day or the week that has been or the days ahead of you,

Then acknowledge that these thoughts are completely normal and valid.

It is part of what makes us human which is a wonderful thing.

But also kindly remind yourself that these thoughts or concerns are of no use to us now and tonight there is no need to engage with them.

They are simply thoughts as fleeting as shooting stars across a night sky.

You are safe tonight and you are protected.

You can be reassured by the fact that my voice and this meditation will never take you anywhere that is unpleasant.

No,

Your sleepy cat is simply here to guide you on your own twilight adventures and to help you enter a world of magic and peace.

A world where you can be completely free.

And now,

As you feel yourself surrender more and more to this sleepy symphony and go deeper and deeper into a place of comfort,

You can allow your mind to soften and your imagination to unlock as we take a visit to the healing pool.

You are standing in a calm,

Peaceful cove surrounded by tall palm trees which provide you with a private place to relax and unwind.

The grass beneath your feet is soft and comfortable.

The healing sun beams down onto your skin,

Warming your entire body.

In front of you is a small turquoise pool,

Pure and bright.

A thin layer of mist rises from the water and a gentle waterfall trickles into the pool from the silver rocks above.

There are many flowers and plants all around you swaying in a kaleidoscope of color and they make the air fresh and healthy.

With each breath in,

You can feel the beauty and the magic of this wonderful place running through you.

And when you exhale,

You are releasing any remaining thoughts,

Worries and tension.

So,

Take a nice deep breath in and allow your stomach and your chest to expand.

Hold the breath at the top for a moment and breathe out through the mouth.

It's time to let go of any burdens that are dragging you down and holding you back.

This is your time to release all of that and to completely relax.

Again,

Breathe in slowly through the nose,

Hold it here,

And exhale on a sigh,

Letting everything go.

So,

Continue breathing in this way and allow your gaze to wander around this enchanted cove as you take in all the details of this wonderful place.

And gradually now,

You begin to walk towards the pool.

Inside the blue pearly water,

You can see flakes of gold glittering in the sun.

You step into the warm water and you feel all the muscles in your feet soften.

Your toes and ankles relax.

It is a beautiful sensation of total release.

As you move further into the pool,

This warmth travels up into your lower legs and you feel your calves softening and becoming free of tension.

The water is at your knees now and you feel a new softness envelop them.

The gentle heat rises into your thighs and there is a soft,

Warm vibration running through both of your legs.

You sit down now in this healing water and you feel a new comfort and relaxation in your hips and buttocks.

As you slide your body deeper into the water,

This warmth begins to seep into your back,

Traveling along your spine and spreading into all the muscles in your back,

Allowing them to become soft and heavy.

With each passing breath,

You feel a new freedom in your stomach and your chest as both of these areas relax completely.

You give yourself permission to surrender to these beautiful sensations.

The heat moves down your arms,

Softening the muscles and loosening your elbows.

Then it runs down the back of your hands,

Into your fingers,

And over your palms.

You are slowly letting go of all control and you are free.

Allow yourself to go deeper and for this healing water to wash over your shoulders and your neck as you feel them become warm,

Soft and heavy.

And now gently put your head under the water for as long as you like and let your jaw soften and your lips relax.

Feel the warmth travel to your cheeks and your eyes and finally enter your forehead.

As you bring your head out of the water,

The sky has turned to a rich purple and blue and the moon is shining bright amongst a backdrop of silver stars.

You are floating in this healing pool filled with total peace and tranquility.

You drift in a sleepy haze and enjoy the starlight symphony,

The warm water and your beautiful surroundings.

You feel your mind empty of any final thoughts and you are completely relaxed.

You let them pass you by like the running of a waterfall,

Here for a moment and then gone.

This is a safe and wondrous cove full of warmth and comfort.

You hold the key to this hidden world and you can return whenever you need to.

As you fall asleep in this enchanted pool,

It will keep you afloat and keep you warm.

And when you wake up,

You will be refreshed,

Energized and ready for a new day.

It is safe for you to fall asleep.

Surrender to this incredible moment and let your body and your mind be free.

You are protected by this enchanted pool and the moon and stars will watch over you tonight,

Guiding your dreams and keeping you safe.

You can rest now.
