Guarded By Your Spirit Animal

After a short breathing exercise, we begin this story in a small forest where the natural beauty of the world surrounds you. Trees, rivers and animals encompass this land, and you stand proudly with your magic wand in hand. Before long you let your mind drift back to a beautiful memory that you have, and you allow it to completely fill you up before you cast your very own enchanted charm, taking the shape of your favourite animal.

You then go on a healing journey of relaxation, where you will also uncover a renewed gratitude and self-love, until you finally let go and fall asleep guarded by your spirit animal, and by those that are special to you.

A warm welcome to this sleep story meditation,

Where you can release everything and enjoy a deep peaceful sleep,

Guarded by your Patronus.

Find a comfortable position where you can lie down and prepare yourself for rest.

Allow yourself to let go of the day that you have had.

It is done now,

And this is your time to relax.

Take a few slow breaths now,

In through the nose and out through the mouth.

Be gentle with your breath tonight,

There is no need to force anything.

And as you exhale,

Just imagine that you are blowing away any tension from your body and any worries from your mind.

And now,

We are going to count to ten,

Using our breath.

Let's do the first round together,

And once we reach ten,

You can start the cycle again.

Don't worry if your mind begins to wander,

It's perfectly normal.

If or when you notice it,

Just allow your focus to come back to counting,

And begin again from one.

And try not to be too hard on yourself tonight.

We are here to relax,

And the time for overthinking is behind us now.

So to begin,

We breathe in through the nose,

And that's one.

Hold it for a brief moment,

And release through the mouth for two.

Breathe in for three,

Hold for just a second,

And breathe out for four.

And that's in for five,

Hold,

And out for six.

In for seven,

Hold,

And out for eight.

And breathe in for nine,

Hold it,

And release for ten.

Continue this breathing in your own time.

Allow your breath to fall back to a natural rhythm.

Let yourself sink deeper and deeper into relaxation and comfort,

As we go forward to meet your Patronus.

You are standing in a quiet,

Peaceful forest.

The sound of spring birds surrounds you,

And there is a warm breeze flowing across your face.

The air is pure and fresh,

And the faint smell of lavender rides the wind.

You are in the middle of a green woodland,

With flakes of blossom and fallen leaves in a mismatch across the forest floor,

And these provide a soft and comfortable bed under the soles of your feet.

To your right,

There is a small stream,

Where the crystal blue water blends into white foam as it meanders through the protruding rocks.

On each side of the stream are flower beds that give off a pastel glow of red,

Blue,

Yellow,

And purple.

On the petals of these flowers,

You see small bumblebees,

Ladybirds,

And dragonflies darting between the flowers and basking in their beauty.

Through the leaves,

You spot the late afternoon sun,

And its beams pierce through the woodland,

Emitting a golden-red shimmer across the forest.

In the trees,

You see tiny squirrels of grey and red running along the branches,

And many birds gathering together in their nests.

Other animals sweep across the forest floor.

Rabbits,

Moles,

And hedgehogs are gathering food,

And their young are playing together.

And in the distant shadows of the forest,

You can see deer and stag leaping high and far across the woodland.

There is something about this place that fills you with a homely comfort.

You feel as though you have been here before.

Everything is as it should be,

And animals and people can live in harmony,

Without fear and without conflict.

In your hand is your wand,

An extension of yourself.

And as you turn the wand in your fingers,

You admire the color,

The carvings,

And the patterns,

And the way it fits perfectly in your hand,

Like the final piece of a puzzle.

You cast your mind back to the day that you received this wand,

Or rather,

The day that your wand chose you.

Standing in the small and cluttered wand shop,

Lit by a single oil lantern,

The beady but gentle eyes of the wiry-haired wandmaker lit up with excitement when you first held this wand in your hand.

And a smile came across his face as you felt yourself surrounded by a warm golden glow that illuminated the usually dark and dusty wand shop.

He told you then that you have a wonderful power within you,

A power to do great things with your magic,

To make the world a happier and more peaceful place.

And as you gaze around this forest now,

Full of the world's natural beauty,

You begin to feel incredibly grateful for so many things in your life,

And grateful for those that you love who support you.

As you fill yourself with gratitude,

Let your mind drift to a beautiful memory that you have,

One that never fails to make you smile and feel safe.

Allow this memory to fill your mind completely,

And when you are ready,

You can raise your wand and cast the most beautiful spell of all,

Expecto Patronum.

Your wand glows bright for a moment before a river of silver and blue flows from the tip in a thick smoke.

It swirls around your body,

Filling you with excitement and wonder,

Before it drifts in front of you and begins to take the shape of your favorite animal.

The woodland around you is now lit by a soft blue glow,

And your animal is giving off an enchanting aura as it pulses with light that is filled with stardust.

This is your guardian,

They are here to guide you and keep you safe tonight.

And as you stare into the swirling blue,

You feel any worries and concerns begin to leave your mind,

As if your animal is drawing them out of you and soothing your heart,

Reminding you that everything will be okay.

Your animal circles around you,

And you trace your fingers over the thick blue smoke as you stroke your guardian.

They begin to slowly lead you down the forest track,

And all of the animals of the forest are drawn to you now.

They gather on each side of you and create a walkway for you and your companion through the woodland.

It is like nothing you have ever seen before.

The world around you looks just that bit more magical and beautiful.

And as you watch your glowing guardian lead the way,

You see that from underneath them,

As if by magic,

Spawns new flowers in all the colors of the rainbow.

And they appear to reach full bloom in an instant and give off a soothing smell as they decorate the forest.

You enter a small thicket of trees where thin branches arch over you and white flower petals drop down in a falling snow.

As you come to the end of this tunnel of trees,

You arrive at a clearing that you are sure you have never seen before.

And yet,

It feels as though you have walked through the front door of your own home.

In front of you is a small pool lit by the new moon that stands high above you,

Casting a spotlight on the forest floor.

There are no more leaves on the ground.

Instead,

There is a purple and green grass,

Which is warm and soft under your feet,

And it wraps gently around your toes like cozy slippers.

Tall,

Thin trees create a perfect circle around the clearing and are filled with bright leaves of green,

Orange,

And yellow.

All of this is illuminated by the blue glow from your guardian,

And they dart across the clearing and circle the tree line,

Before returning to you and staying by your side.

You gaze up at the moon,

A white orb surrounded by silver dust,

Twinkling at different moments across the sky.

You can see the very outline and the details of the milky way rotating above you.

You lie down on the soft grass and look up at the night sky.

In that moment,

Your animal begins to pulse with light and gives off streams of silver and blue.

These starlight ribbons begin to swirl around your head,

And you feel your mind becoming clear now,

Like a thick fog being lifted,

And you give any and all thoughts permission to leave you.

There is a warm sensation running across your forehead,

And you feel that the muscles are beginning to unravel and soften as your guardian lifts away any tension from your forehead and your brow.

As this blue and silver dust begins to pass over your face now,

You feel your cheeks and eyes soften.

Your lips slowly part as your jaw releases.

You feel any tension in your face melting away,

And you are completely safe.

The warmth passes down into your neck,

Relaxing all the muscles from the back of the head slowly down into your shoulders.

Any tension in your neck and shoulders is unraveling and falling away from you.

You feel as though your body might be floating ever so slightly off the ground as you become weightless and free.

You begin to feel a new warmth trickle from the top of your shoulders all the way down your arms.

The muscles in your arms soften and relax.

Your elbows have become loose and free from all control.

As you watch the blue and silver encase your hands,

There is a warmth and softness in your palms,

Your wrists,

And your fingers as you feel yourself being relieved of all tension.

The silver streams of starlight from your animal begin to circle your chest now.

And as you take a deep breath in,

You feel any tightness in your chest begin to soften and melt away,

And your breath becomes free and open.

This sensation moves into your stomach,

And you allow the belly to expand as you take another deep breath and let go of any holding in tonight.

This is a place where you can be free.

There is a warmth in your buttocks now,

And you feel any tension in the muscles unravel and completely melt away.

As this new relaxation flows down your body,

You feel bit by bit the muscles in your legs soften and let go of any control.

Your thighs are warm,

Your knees are loose,

And your calves are soft.

The bluey-silver stardust wraps around your feet,

And you notice the ankle joints becoming loose.

The tops of your feet soften,

And a warmth trickles through the soles of your feet,

All the way into your toes.

Your entire body has been relieved of all tension and stress,

And you continue to float gently above the ground,

Shrouded with blue and silver,

Completely protected.

Your guardian has cleared your mind,

And you are filled with comfort and peace.

And when you look in front of you now,

You see a silvery-blue version of yourself glowing above you,

And smiling at you.

And as you gaze in wonder at this reflection of yourself,

Your eyes drift to those parts of you that once made you feel insecure,

Only now you see how beautiful all of these qualities really are.

And you embrace these features with a renewed love,

And a renewed acceptance.

For you see now that there is no right way to look,

To sound,

Or to be.

And once you release yourself from all of these pressures,

You can begin to live free.

You see yourself in a new light,

And you are reminded of the wonderful person that you are,

And all of the potential that you have.

The stars continue to pulse across the blue and purple sky,

And as your eyes wander around this clearing,

You notice something in the trees around you.

One by one,

You watch all of the people that are special to you emerge from the treeline,

With a warm smile across their face.

You watch in amazement as each of them raises their wand and casts their very own Patronus charm.

Out of their wands flows a magical array of beautiful blue animals dotted with stardust.

There is an eagle soaring above you,

A horse galloping across the plains,

A cat and a dog playing together,

A dolphin leaps from the pool,

And a rabbit hops delicately through the grass,

As a butterfly drifts through the trees before landing on the tip of your finger.

More animals continue to appear and create a bright blue sanctuary all around you.

These animals begin to dart and fly across the clearing,

And create a beautiful display as they all weave together.

And you are reminded now that you are truly loved,

And truly protected.

As you watch this wonderful display all around you,

You see bright blue beams spiral away from the animals into the sky,

And they begin to form a protective dome above you.

This enchanting dome merges together like running paint filled with a nebula dust,

And the air inside becomes light and fresh.

It is a healing air,

And with each breath you take,

You feel yourself relaxing deeper,

And deeper,

As your body becomes heavy and your mind becomes clear,

As you give any remaining thoughts permission to leave you now.

You watch these thoughts seep out of your head and drift up into the night sky,

Until they are banished by your guardians and fade out of sight.

Tonight,

You are completely safe,

And you are guarded by your animal and by those that you love.

You are filled with comfort,

And a new stillness and peace is within you now,

And you know that tonight you are protected.

This heavenly sanctuary is yours,

And you know that if you ever feel lost,

Anxious,

Or afraid,

Then you can always come back to this forest and be guarded by your Patronus.

The stars and the glowing animals are giving off an enchanting music that lulls you deeper and deeper into relaxation.

Your animal is by your side,

And they will watch over you as you sleep tonight.

They will protect you,

And they will keep your dreams pure and beautiful.

Nothing can disturb you tonight.

You are in a secret place of your own,

And you are well looked after here.

And when you wake in the morning,

Your memory of tonight will fill you with positivity,

And you will be refreshed and ready for a brand new day.

Now,

Let all of it go.

Feel the light of your Patronus guarding you tonight,

And feel yourself drift deeper and deeper.

You are healing.

You are warm.

You are safe.
