Welcome to Ipek and Tara's Threads of Light,

A talk series that illuminates the path to a brighter and more meaningful life.

Join us as we set sail on a journey of self-discovery,

Transformation,

And shared wisdom.

Welcome to today's talk about life's patterns and exploring how they shape our values.

This is Tara,

And this is a very interesting topic for me as I reflect back on the formation of my beliefs and character as a younger person,

A child,

Adolescent,

Which presented me with many challenges,

And now I see as opportunities that became building blocks of my inner strengths and beliefs about what's right,

Wrong,

Or important.

So the things in life can be challenges,

And they also present as a pattern if we take time to recognize this and how they influence or even change our life.

So to get us started today,

I will share a short reading.

Patterns exist in our seemingly patternless lives and the most common pattern is the circle.

Like a dog pursuing its tail,

We go around and around all our lives through the circles of the seasons,

Repeating our mistakes and pursuing our redemption.

From birth to death,

We explore and seek,

And in the end,

We arrive where we started,

The past having made one great slow turn on a carousel to become our future.

And if we have learned anything worth learning,

The carousel will bring us to the one place we most need to be,

By Dean Kuntz.

Wow,

Thank you for this beautiful and meaningful quote,

Passage,

Tara,

In light of the inspiration it brings,

Let's set sail for an exploration of how the patterns of our lives kind of intertwine with our core values.

Because it's a compelling question and it captures our attention,

Are the patterns we observe in our lives a reflection of the values we hold dear,

Or do these experiences shape the values we come to cherish?

This concept,

Inspired by Dan Millman's The Life You Were Born to Live book,

Suggests that our birth numbers can offer insights into our unique set of strengths,

Weaknesses,

And the lessons destined for us.

What I got from reading the book prompted me to reflect on my own values of fairness,

Love,

And honesty,

Which I mentioned in the last episode,

And how they have been influenced by the recurring themes in my life.

From my early days,

Really,

My interactions with my family and community,

In a way,

Nurtured a strong sense of fairness within me.

I was taught to see the world through the lens of equality,

Believing firmly that everyone deserves respect and justice.

And this foundational belief has significantly influenced my life,

Guided my decisions,

And shaped how I engage with others.

It's become an integral part of my identity,

And it quietly guided my steps every day.

Love also has played a pivotal role in my life's narrative.

The unwavering love and support I received from my family were instrumental in teaching me the importance of building meaningful,

Empathetic relationships.

This pattern of love and nurturing did not just happen,

It was ingrained in me,

The transformative power of love and its essential role in forging human connections.

Also,

The value of honesty has been a real guiding principle for me.

Cultivated through numerous moments where speaking my truth was challenging,

Yet ultimately rewarding.

Honesty has laid some kind of a foundation for trust and integrity in my relationships,

And it served not merely as a policy,

But as a beacon guiding my life's journey.

So navigating through life's complexities,

Fairness,

Love,

And honesty have emerged,

In a way,

As my guiding stars,

Offering clarity,

Purpose,

In times of uncertainty.

And these values are pillars upon which I stand,

Constantly guiding me back to my true path during moments of indecision or challenge.

However,

This exploration extends beyond my personal journey.

We all possess a unique set of values,

Shaped by our distinct experiences.

And our values serve as personal compasses,

In a way,

Leading us toward our truth.

They are the essence of our identity,

And they remind us of who we are at our core and the person we aspire to be.

With that in mind,

I invite our listeners to think about their own life patterns.

How have those patterns influenced the values you hold dear?

Also,

How do these cherished values inform the patterns of your life?

So now,

I turn to you,

Tara,

With your unique experiences.

You have navigated a rich tapestry of challenges and achievements.

And I'm keen to hear about the values that illuminate your path,

How your life's journey has shaped these values,

And how they are reflected in the patterns of your life today.

So Tara,

What are your thoughts on the intricate relationship between the patterns of our lives and our values?

Thank you,

Ipek,

For sharing your thoughtful reflection on patterns shaping values.

And you also use the word sculpting,

And I think that's an important image to keep in mind as we're talking.

And because we're talking about emotional and energetic patterns versus particular routines,

I'm thinking about my emotional responses as a child and young person during various circumstances.

In response to a question you posed earlier,

Are the patterns we observe in our lives a reflection of the values we hold dear?

Or do these experiences shape the values we come to cherish?

And I wonder about that too.

Is it one way or two way?

It could be a combination.

And as children,

We often respond from a primitive emotional level of development without much rational processing or logic.

And I find it revealing to recall,

As a younger person in that state of development,

If we were naturally inclined to share,

Stand up for ourselves or others,

Daring to be different,

Or did we follow the pack and rules or social norms?

And if our responses change over time,

As beliefs become more defined into adulthood,

Then we start having that rational and logical thinking behind our emotions or after them,

Perhaps,

Given the free will and choice to make or positions to take on matters that presented to us.

And considering a larger view of patterns as it relates to nature,

I think there's a divine order really that is accompanied by our layers of evolution that shape our values.

Consider that Earth humans have mental capacity unlike other known mammals.

For example,

We have the ability to do self-analysis,

Think about time from the past,

Present and future,

Imagination,

Abstract thinking,

Cultural establishments and morality.

And it's my thinking that these very abilities fuel our values over a lifetime and could be why they too change and evolve during our life.

Perhaps this is why wisdom is now among my top values,

Along with joy and integrity among others.

I'm truly enjoying my expanding mental creativity in my life right now,

Which is part of my past story and itself as a pattern that I'm now reflecting on.

It's really amazing and validating that my birth numbers yield a double creativity and confidence,

Integrity and wisdom,

Cooperation and balance as themes for my purpose.

And in hindsight,

I see this as a pattern reflected in many prior experiences and challenges that are part of my evolution.

So with that said,

I'm learning how profound consciousness is and that living untethered,

Relating to a book I recently read,

Is an emerging wave-like pattern for me.

It talks about being conscious of your higher self.

And of course,

Then there's quantum theories,

Which present much more to digest.

And for me,

It could preferably be in small bites if we're open-minded to that.

Quantum physics concepts like retrocausality that I heard about recently can be quite mind-bending.

So in closing,

I'm going to offer a simple quote.

Esther uses the longest threads to weave her patterns so that each small piece of her fabric reveals the organization of the entire tapestry by Richard P.

Feynman.

As we come to the end of our talk today,

Thank you for sharing all this,

Tara.

And it's really interesting to think about how our values and the things that happen in our lives are really connected.

It's like when you look at your life,

You can see how the important things you believe in and the experiences you've had work together to guide you.

This connection helps us understand ourselves better and shows us how to move forward.

Every choice we make and every step we take are influenced by this relationship between our values and our life experiences.

So it's about learning,

Growing,

And adjusting as we go along.

Understanding this helps us live in a way that feels right and true to who we are.

So as we keep going on our journey,

Let's remember this connection.

It can help us make better choices and lead us toward a life that really reflects what's important to us.

Here's a short affirmation to think about.

Let my life's experiences and my values guide me to my true path.

This way of looking at it encourages us to stay connected with what we value deeply as we navigate through life,

Aiming for a genuine and fulfilling path.

Thank you for listening.

We hope you found this episode insightful.

If so,

Please share it with others.

Until we reunite under the cosmic embrace of our next episode,

May your days be filled with the brilliance of your unique light.

Take each step with purpose and let the threads of light guide you.
