Welcome to this meditation.
The infinite blue.
You are the sky.
I am Rookwood Moon,
And I am so glad you are dedicating some time for yourself.
Find your way into a posture that feels both regal and relaxed.
Imagine you are leaning back into a high-backed wicker chair on a sweeping veranda.
Overlooking a landscape that stretches on forever.
Close your eyes.
Feel the soft,
Humid air of the afternoon brush against your skin like a secret Take a deep breath in.
Let it fill you completely.
And release it with a slow,
Steady exhale as if you were blowing out a single candle flame from across the room.
Inhale a deep breath.
Drawing in the scent of sun-baked pine and wild jasmine.
Exhale a long,
Heavy breath.
Notice the weight of your hands resting in your lap.
Feel the ground beneath your feet,
Solid and unmoving You are anchored here,
A steady point in an ever-shifting world Bring your awareness to the rise and fall of your chest letting the rhythm become as natural as the turning of the tide.
You are still.
You are open.
You are ready to observe Shift your inner gaze upward.
Visualize your mind not as a cramped room.
But as a vast,
Limitless southern sky.
It is a deep,
Breathtaking blue,
An indigo so profound it feels like it could swallow every worry you've ever had.
This fastness is your true nature.
It is silent.
Spacious.
And eternal.
Now,
Notice a thought appearing.
Perhaps it's a worry about tomorrow.
Or a memory from this morning.
See it not as a part of you.
But as a cloud drifting into your field of vision It might be a thin,
Wispy cirrus cloud.
Or heavy grey cumulus.
Your only job is to watch it.
Don't reach up to grab it.
Don't try to push it out of the frame.
Just observe its shape its color.
And the way the wind of your breath moves it along.
Perhaps you whisper to yourself.
There is a thought.
And there it goes Another thought arrives,
Perhaps a to-do list.
A judgment.
Or a flicker of anxiety Watch it float by.
See how it changes shape as it moves.
Notice that no matter how dark or heavy the cloud is,
It cannot hurt the sky.
The sky doesn't fight the cloud.
It simply provides the space for the cloud to exist and eventually pass.
Realize the profound truth of this moment.
You are not the clouds You are the sky The clouds are just the weather of the mind.
Temporary.
Shifting.
And fleeting.
You are the vast blue stillness that remains when the weather clears.
Feel the breathing room this creates.
There is so much space here You are not your intrusive thoughts.
You are the consciousness that witnesses them.
The sun in your mental landscape begins to set,
Turning the horizon into a soft glow of peach and gold The clouds have drifted far away,
Leaving the sky clear and peaceful.
Start to bring your awareness back to the weight of your body Feel the texture of your clothes against your skin The vastness you felt is still within you You are simply bringing it back into the physical world.
Take a slow,
Deep stretch,
Reaching your fingertips wide as if trying to touch the edges of that infinite sky Bring your hands together at your heart,
Grounding that sense of space and carry this intention with you and maybe say it with me.
I am the sky,
Not the weather.
I have space for all my thoughts and I let them pass.
I am the stillness behind the storm.
When you are ready.
Open your eyes and look at the world with the clarity of a cloudless afternoon
