Let's begin by finding a comfortable position.
You can be seated or lying down.
Just allow your body to feel supported.
Close your eyes and take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose and gently exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Breathe in and let it go.
Let your shoulders soften,
Unclench your jaw,
Relax your hands,
Your belly and your neck and head.
Let yourself just be in this place and time.
Now in your mind's eye,
Imagine you are standing at the edge of a great open field at twilight.
The sky is a deep,
Deep blue.
The air is still.
And you feel the pull of something ancient,
Something sacred,
Beckoning you forward.
In the center of this field,
There is a fire,
Not wild and chaotic.
This is a ceremonial flame,
Alive,
Purposeful,
Crackling with clarity.
This is the fire of transformation.
This is the Hindu goddess Kali's fire.
She is the goddess of ending and closure,
Change and liberation.
She is called on in times of transition.
Now slowly start walking towards the fire.
With each step,
You feel the weight of the past loosening from your shoulders,
Like a coat you've worn for too long,
Protective once,
But now far too heavy.
It's time to give yourself permission to let go of the past.
You now stand before the fire,
And in your hand,
You're holding a small bundle.
This bundle holds the old stories,
Memories,
And events you've outgrown or moved on from,
And the habits that no longer serve you,
Or the fear,
The guilt,
The pressure to be anything other than who you really are.
Take a moment now to quietly name what's in your bundle.
Are there words written on each sheet?
What are you ready to release?
I'll give you a moment to really collect the images and occurrences you want to let go of.
And remember,
If you forget something,
You can come back to this space and place with Kali again and again,
On as many occasions as you like.
Now take a deep breath,
And gently place the bundle in the flames.
The fire receives it willingly.
No judgment,
No shame,
Just magic.
As the bundle burns,
Watch how the flames dance.
Each flicker transforms what was once heavy into light.
Smoke rises into the star-laden sky,
Carrying away what no longer needs to linger in your mind and spirit.
You feel it in your body,
The release.
There is space now.
Your breath deepens.
Your heart opens.
You didn't lose anything essential.
You just brought yourself to the forefront.
Now as the fire dies down to glowing embers,
Something catches your eye in the ashes.
A small object,
Simple and bright.
Once the ash has cooled,
You reach down and pick it up.
It's a symbol of what's next for you in life,
A whisper from your future self.
Take a look at the object.
Do you know what it is?
You don't have to know what it means yet.
Just hold it,
Trust it,
And place the object in your pocket for safekeeping.
Look back down and thank the fire.
Thank Kali,
Or whatever higher force feels true to you.
And then you begin to walk back across the field,
Only this time you're lighter,
Clearer,
Deeper,
More rooted in your truth.
You have shed the past and started to move into your future and all the joys it has to offer.
Feel a golden glow swirl around you and warm you from the inside out.
As you approach the edge of the field,
Start to bring your awareness back to here and now.
Begin to move your fingers and your toes.
Take a deep breath in and exhale fully.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Let this feeling stay with you.
You let go,
You are becoming,
And you are ready for what's next.
