Welcome.
I love self-inquiry questions.
Especially ones which can give us a sense of our true nature.
And help us experience our own embodied wisdom.
So if you're ready.
I'd like you to get comfortable.
And we'll begin with our eyes closed.
And with all meditation practice.
It's good to begin to move your attention away from your mind.
And into your body.
And we can do that.
By focusing on.
The pressure.
Of how your body is being supported.
Maybe you're seated or you're lying down.
And getting a sense of.
.
.
How your body feels right now.
And as you become aware of your body.
You can experience a cloud of sensations.
Which represent your body.
All happening at once.
Tingling.
Warmth,
Pressure.
Or being experienced.
As fluctuations within your consciousness.
Everything you experience is content.
Arising in consciousness.
And bring your attention to your breath.
Again,
The sensations of the breath.
Are experiences within consciousness.
And without trying to change anything.
Just note.
How you're breathing,
As is shallow.
Is it deepening?
And how we breathe.
Is often a reflection of how we are experiencing life.
And in meditation practice.
We're giving ourselves the space to slow down.
To pause.
And for some of you.
We're moving from.
A survival state of being.
Where we're rushing around.
Our minds are busy.
And we're constantly predicting.
What we need to be doing for our future.
That doesn't exist.
We often trade.
The most important moment of our life,
The here and now.
For a future.
That doesn't exist.
And in meditation.
We can practice.
The art.
Of bringing our attention.
To the here and now.
And by focusing on the breath.
That's a way of anchoring your attention.
To the here and now.
And just for a moment follow an out-breath.
Of your choosing.
And just note.
And there's a pause at the end of the breath.
Where your mind becomes quiet and still.
Before you breathe back in.
You can deepen your sense of presence.
Just by becoming aware.
Of being aware.
And some of you may experience a brightening or a lightening.
Of your energy.
Feeling more alive.
As you become aware of being aware.
What happens for you?
Move your attention inwards.
Almost like you're looking back in on yourself.
And ask yourself this powerful question.
I wonder what my next thought will be.
And then look for the thought.
What happens.
Most of you will have noticed.
That your mind stopped still.
There was a peace.
A space.
A silence.
And it's okay if you didn't experience that.
Practice again.
Move your attention inwards.
And like a cat,
Watching for.
.
.
Amass,
Ask yourself.
I wonder what my next thought will be.
And watch for the thought.
Keep watching for your thoughts.
Some thoughts will appear.
And then they will disappear.
A wonderful practice within meditation.
Is to observe your thoughts.
To look for them.
With curiosity.
Without judging,
Without analysing.
It's very easy to believe you are your thoughts.
They are just an ego algorithm.
Appearing and disappearing within consciousness.
And they can pour you in.
It can pull you in so that you believe you are your thoughts.
But you can break that spell.
By looking within.
And asking yourself.
I wonder.
What my next talk will be.
And then watch for the thought.
When your mind stops still.
When it goes quiet.
And peaceful.
You are revealing to you.
You're grounded.
True self.
That exists beyond the noise of your thinking mind.
And the more you access.
This peaceful state of being.
The more you will hear your own insights and guidance for life.
A Peaceful.
And present mind.
Creates a powerful life.
Can you sense the peace and stillness that's available to you right here and now?
Without trying to make it happen.
No effort required.
All you're doing is simply noticing.
That there is peace and stillness.
Right here and now,
Available to you.
Even if it's just for a few moments.
I'm going to give you one more question.
To explore.
Before we end this meditation.
And the answer to this question will come from the experience you have before your mind tries to answer for you.
Who am I?
Before a thought tries to tell me who I am.
What did you experience?
Now for a lot of you.
Again.
Your mind stops still.
And there was your natural state of being of peace and stillness and space materializing.
And these are powerful questions to ask yourself.
When you're being caught up in the drama.
That your mind,
Your ego algorithm.
Can create.
You are not your thoughts.
You are not your feelings.
You are not your beliefs.
You are so much more.
And when you're ready.
.
.
Come back to your surroundings.
And I'd like you to reflect on.
The questions that we explore today.
I wonder what my next thought will be.
And who am I before thought tries to tell me who I am?
Besides interrupting any.
Ego rhythm,
Hypnotic spell created by your mind.
Which is very useful if you're feeling stressed or anxious.
Lost in overthinking.
But it also reveals your true nature.
Points out to your natural state of being once your mind begins to quieten down.
And that's why meditation practices or even just walking in nature,
Spending time undistracted and in silence is so important to help you cultivate a peaceful and present mind.
Because I promise you.
Your life will change in ways you can't imagine.
Once you operate from a higher level of being.
And remember my friends.
.
.
If you know what's coming next,
Say it with me.
I am you,
You are me,
We are one.
To have a wonderful,
Peaceful and present day.
