In this short video, Rachel Collins, certified EFT practitioner and mindfulness teacher, explains exactly what EFT Tapping is and how it works. You will learn why tapping is effective for stress, overwhelm, procrastination, and emotional blocks — and why it works where willpower and positive thinking alone often fall short. Rachel provides a quick overview of the key acupressure points used in a tapping sequence. She closes with a warm invitation to explore the practice further and take your very first guided tapping session through her course 'Tap Into Focus', available right here on Insight Timer.

Have you ever noticed that when you're stressed,

Anxious,

Or completely stuck on something?

No amount of telling yourself to just calm down actually works.

That's because stress and resistance aren't thinking problems.

Their nervous system responses.

And you can't think your way out of a nervous system response.

That's where EFT tapping comes in.

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique.

It's a practice that combines gentle tapping on specific acupressure points on your face and body.

With focused awareness on whatever you're feeling.

And what research has shown is that this tapping sends a direct calming signal to the amygdala.

The part of your brain responsible for stress,

Fear,

And that fight or flight response.

Here's what it looks like in practice.

You start by tapping on the side of your hand here.

The karate chop point.

While saying a simple statement about what you're feeling.

Something like,

Even though I feel completely overwhelmed right now.

I deeply accept myself.

Then you move through a sequence of eight points on your face,

Here at the eyebrow.

Side of the eye.

Under the eye.

Under your nose.

Under the chin.

On the collarbone.

Under your arm.

And finally at the top of your head.

And you're tapping gently on each one.

While staying focused on the feeling you want to release.

So it's not something where you deny your feelings.

Is something where you tap into.

Your body while sending calming signs that allow you to shift that energy.

And most people notice a shift within just one or two rounds.

Of tapping.

The emotional charge around whatever has been bothering them softens.

The task they were avoiding feels lighter.

The anxiety that was humming in the background quiets down.

This can work for stress,

Overwhelm,

Procrastination,

Creative blocks,

Fear,

And so much more.

If you do it regularly and you start tapping.

Your body immediately starts to calm down because it recognizes the signal that it is safe to relax.

So you can do it anywhere,

Anytime,

With nothing but your own two hands.

If you'd like to learn the full technique and experience your first guided tapping session.

I recommend my course,

Taffin to Focus.

It will show you all of the tapping points.

And really help if you're dealing with procrastination.

You'll find it right here on my profile on Insight Timer.

I also have available a morning tapping session and an evening tapping session,

Which are completely free.

I'm Rachel Collins,

Certified EFT Practitioner and Mindfulness Teacher.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about EFT tapping.

I hope you experience it for yourself.

I'll see you soon.
