Welcome.
Thank you for being here and for choosing to make yourself a priority today.
This is your mandala card of the day,
A gentle pause to breathe,
Reflect,
And explore.
Before we begin,
I invite you to have a journal or blank page nearby,
Along with a pen.
This session includes time for journaling.
For now,
Allow yourself to settle in.
There's nothing to fix,
Nothing to figure out,
Just this moment and this breath.
Let's begin by settling into this moment.
Gently close your eyes if that feels comfortable.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Let your hands rest wherever they feel at ease.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
Take a gentle exhale out through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale slowly.
And exhale fully.
With each inhale,
Breathe in lightness,
Warmth,
And love.
With each exhale,
Release tension and stress and worry.
One more time,
Breathing in steady and calm,
And breathing out long and soft.
Now allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Notice the quiet space you've created.
Notice that you are here,
Present,
Fully aware,
Supported,
Loved.
The theme for today is joy.
Joy often arrives when we stop chasing it.
The key is to pause long enough to stop thinking and overthinking,
And to become aware of the beauty in this moment.
To appreciate fully what is here,
What is now.
It doesn't always come from grand moments or life-changing events.
More often,
Joy appears in the small everyday experiences that are easy to overlook.
A heartfelt laugh,
A favourite song,
The way sunlight filters through the trees.
These simple moments can carry a surprising lightness when we allow ourselves to truly notice them,
And then take a moment to pause and appreciate them.
Research shows that intentionally focusing on small joys can improve our mood and overall sense of well-being.
When we shift our attention towards what is pleasant,
Meaningful,
Or beautiful in the moment,
Our perspective begins to soften,
And we cultivate present moment awareness.
Life can feel less heavy and more spacious.
Joy grows not because the circumstances suddenly become perfect or change,
But because our awareness opens to what is already good,
And we start to train the mind to look for more and more good.
When I slow down enough to notice the simple pleasures of the day,
The warmth of sunlight on my skin,
The sound of leaves moving in the breeze,
The calm of a quiet moment,
Something shifts inside.
The ordinary begins to feel meaningful.
Joy becomes something we discover in the present moment.
Today,
Give yourself permission to delight in the little things.
Joy is all around you,
Quietly waiting to be noticed.
Now I invite you to turn inward and explore this theme more deeply through journaling.
Your journal prompt today is remember a time when you felt joy.
What made this moment meaningful?
How can you invite more moments like this into your life?
Allow your thoughts to flow without editing or judgment.
Simply let whatever needs to be expressed come onto the page.
It's time to wrap up your journaling and bring this to a close.
As we come to the end of this practice,
I invite you to place one hand gently on your heart,
Take a slow breath in and a soft breath out.
I'll share an affirmation now.
You're welcome to repeat it silently or out loud,
Allowing the words to land in your body.
I find joy in the little things.
I find joy in the little things.
I welcome moments of delight throughout my day.
I welcome moments of delight throughout my day.
Joy grows when I pause to notice the beauty around me.
Joy grows when I pause to notice the beauty around me.
Take another deep breath,
Feeling grounded,
Supported and present.
That closes the affirmation.
Let your hand rest softly and gently in your lap and take a moment to notice and appreciate the softness within you,
The love within you,
The possibility for more joy within you.
Thank you for giving yourself this time today.
May you carry joy and gratitude and appreciation and love with you throughout the day.
