Fair question about non-duality.
And today I'm going to explain that question to you and give you my response.
The question was.

Images and sounds.
Are they one?
What does that mean?
Images and sounds,
Are they one thing?
What I'd like you to think about is.
.
.
Light.
Just pure light,
Pure.
White light.
Think of the sun,
Let's say.
If you take white light and you split it into pieces.
You end up with colours in the rainbow.
You end up with blue and you end up with green.
And you end up with orange and yellow and violet and all the colours.
And that's because you've taken something whole.
And you've dispersed it into fragments.
Think of all reality.
In the same way.
Just imagine right now everything you are experiencing.
Is a little bit like a rainbow.
Only a much bigger version.
And rather than just colours being apparent.
You've got.
Sounds images.
Bodily sensations.
Thoughts.
All these are.
.
.
Different variations of one thing.
So what is this one thing that everything is derived from?
Well,
This is what people talk about when you talk about God.
And if that word is triggering for you,
Which it might be the word God.
Think of Consciousness Awareness.
Universe,
Essence,
Source.
Perhaps source is the most accurate word.
When I'm describing this.
What is the source of all experience?
This source,
This origin is a very interesting substance.
Why is it interesting?
Because it's seemingly made of two parts.
This cosmic substance.
Which I sometimes refer to as cosmic paint.
Cosmic Energy.
It's seemingly made of.
The object,
So whether it's the sound or the smell or the image.
As this person asked about.
But not only is it made of the object,
Which is like the colour in the rainbow.
It's also infused with Awareness.
And if you need to be reminded what awareness is.
Because it can be very easily overlooked.
Awareness is.
What makes this now?
Known.
Without awareness,
Nothing is perceived.
So let's just.

Track back.
Like a rainbow where pure energy is dispersed into fragments.
Each colour in the rainbow is like your experience.
Sounds,
Smells,
Sights,
Visuals,
Images and each of those objects because a sound is like an object,
A visual is like an object.
Each object is infused with this formless Awareness.
And this is why it's called non-duality.
Because it means no separation.
Awareness.
The formless and the object.
In this case sounds and images.
They're not separate.
It doesn't mean that they are merged.
It doesn't mean that red is merged with blue.
What's the combination of red and blue?
What's the combination of yellow and red?
Then you get orange.
That's not what is happening.
Everything is still separate.
A sound is still a sound.
And an image is still an image.
They're not parallel.
Combined.
What is combined though,
This is the core message.
What is combined is the awareness that is within each.
And that awareness is derived from the same source.
So when we say that Images and sounds are in a non-dual,
Non-separate state.
It doesn't mean that images and sounds are blended together in a mushy,
Orangey,
Green colour.
It means that they're still distinctly separate,
But they're derived from the same awareness,
And infused into them is the same cosmic substance.
And everything is actually made out of that same cosmic substance.
