So just take a moment to settle.
Just make any final adjustments to get yourself as comfortable as you possibly can.
If you haven't already closed your eyes,
If it feels safe to do so and comfortable for you,
You can do that now.
And just take a moment to settle into stillness.
And simply notice your breath.
And there's no need to change it.
You're just noticing your breath.
Just allowing the breath to naturally come and go.
Natural rhythm,
No forcing,
No straining.
With each breath allow yourself to soften a little bit more.
Let your shoulders drop down.
Soften your forehead.
Relax your jaw.
And allow yourself to arrive fully into this moment.
Now imagine yourself standing beneath a beautiful autumn tree.
The ear is cool and it's gentle.
And the world around you is quiet.
And the leaves have begun to change colour.
Golden yellow.
Warm orange.
Deep red.
A soft brown.
And as you stand beneath the tree,
You notice the leaves are beginning to fold.
One by one.
They gently release themselves from the branches.
They don't struggle.
They don't hold on.
When the time is right.
They simply let go.
And take a slow,
Deep breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine yourself becoming a little more willing to let go.
Letting go of what you no longer need to carry.
Letting go of worries.
All beliefs.
Letting go of stories you've been telling yourself.
Stories about who you are.
What you should be.
What you should have done.
What might happen.
Or what you fear might happen.
You don't have to force anything away.
You don't have to sew anything.
Just alone.
Now in your imagination.
Notice a gentle stream flowing nearby.
And the water is clear and peaceful.
It moves effortlessly over smooth stones.
And you can hear the sound of the water flowing.
And you notice that the stream is moving in the direction it needs to go without resistance.
And as each bottom leaf falls from the tree,
Imagine that leaf carrying something that you are ready to release.
Perhaps worry.
Fear.
Maybe an old belief.
Maybe a story about yourself that you have carried for a very long time.
Simply allow whatever comes to mind.
And when you're ready,
Place it gently upon a leaf.
And watch as the leaf settles onto the surface of the stream.
And the water receives it.
And carries it away.
You don't need to follow it.
And you don't need to bring it back.
Just watch.
As the gentle current carries it downstream.
And then another leaf folds.
And perhaps this one carries a belief.
That you're not enough.
Place it gently.
Into the string.
And watch it float away.
And another leaf folds.
Perhaps this one carries something.
That you've been worrying about.
Something that you've been trying to control.
Place it upon the leaf.
And let the stream carry it.
And another leaf folds.
Perhaps this one carries an old story.
A story about something that happened in the past.
Perhaps a story that you have repeated so many times that it has become part of how you see yourself.
You don't have to deny what happened.
And you don't have to change the past.
Simply allow the story to rest upon the leaf.
And place the leaf on the water.
And watch it drift gently away.
And then another leaf falls,
And then another,
And then another.
And they keep falling.
Each one carrying something that you're ready to loosen your grip on.
A worry.
Judgment.
And expectation.
Fear.
Don't believe.
I regret.
A version of yourself.
That you have outgrown.
And place each one gently into the stream.
And let the water do the work.
Notice how the stream never asked the leaves to stay.
It doesn't hold on to them.
It doesn't chase them.
This simply allows them to move.
And perhaps you can borrow something from the stream.
You too can allow.
You can soften your grip.
You too can let things move through you rather than carrying them forever.
And take a slow breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine releasing something that you no longer need.
Another breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Just let go.
You may notice that some leaves sink.
Some become caught briefly on a stone.
And others continue quickly downstream.
There is no right way for them to leave.
And there's no right way for you to let go.
Some things may release easily.
And some may take time.
You don't have to force the process.
Now look back at the tree.
And notice the spaces where the leaves are falling.
The tree has not become less whole.
It is simply changing.
Making space for a new season.
And perhaps you can see yourself in the same way.
You're allowed to change.
You're allowed to outgrow all beliefs.
Release old stories.
Become someone new.
You're allowed to make space.
And beneath the tree,
Feel your feet upon the earth.
Feel the ground supporting you.
Feel your breath moving gently through your body.
Notice that underneath everything that you've been carrying there is still you.
Wyatt.
Horizon.
Breathing.
You don't have to know what comes next.
You don't have to have everything figured out.
For now,
You can simply breathe and allow.
Imagine one final leaf falling from the tree.
And this sleeve carries whatever you're most ready to release today.
Perhaps you don't know what it is.
Perhaps you do.
Either way.
Place it gently upon the stream.
And watch it float further and further away.
And as it disappears,
Take a deep breath.
Gentle breath in.
And slowly breathe out.
And silently say to yourself.
I can let go.
I don't have to carry everything.
I can release what no longer serves me.
I can allow life to flow.
I can make space for what is new.
Rest here for a few moments with nothing to fix.
Nothing to solve.
Nothing to hold on to.
Just your breath and the earth beneath you and the gentle movement of the strings.
When you're ready.
Begin to notice the surface beneath you.
Sounds in the room.
The air against your skin.
Take one final breath in.
On out.
And in your own time.
You can gently come back to the room,
Wide awake and aware.
By slowly opening your eyes.
