Hello beautiful soul.
I'm glad you're here.
Whatever has brought you to this moment.
Perhaps there's a day that's gone wrong.
A season that's taken more than you had.
Version of yourself you're not proud of.
A voice that won't let you rest.
I want you to know something before we begin.
You are not too far gone for kindness,
Not even close.
Find a comfortable position.
Whether that's seated or lying down.
Whatever feels right for you.
And let your body settle into whatever it's holding right now.
And when you're ready,
If you feel comfortable.
Gently closing your eyes or perhaps just lowering your gaze.
And take a slow breath in.
And let it go.
You don't have to fix anything in the next few minutes.
You don't have to arrive at forgiveness or resolution or peace.
You just have to be here.
And let something softer find you.
An invitation to bring your attention to your body for a moment.
Notice where you're holding it.
The hot day,
The hot season.
They don't just live in the mind.
They settle into the body too.
It could be tightness across the chest,
Maybe a heaviness behind the eyes.
Shoulders that have been braced for longer than you can remember.
Just notice.
No need to change it.
Just witness yourself for a moment.
Way that a kind friend might.
Without agenda,
Without judgment,
Just seeing you.
And with your next breath out.
See if just a little bit of that holding can soften.
Not collapse,
Not disappear,
Just ease by a fraction,
Maybe just 5 or 10%.
It's seeing how it feels in your jaw.
Your hands.
Space around your heart.
That's enough.
That's more than enough.
I want to speak to something for a moment.
That voice.
The one that catalogs your failures.
That replays the moments where you got it wrong.
The one that holds up the evidence and says,
See,
This is who you are.
I know that voice.
Most of us do.
And here is what I've come to understand about it.
It isn't the truth of you.
It's the fear of you.
It's the part that learns somewhere along the way.
That if it could spot every flaw before anyone else did,
It could keep you safe.
It could keep you small enough not to be hurt.
It's always been trying to protect you.
In its own clumsy,
Unkind way.
You can have compassion for that voice.
And still choose not to believe everything that it tells you.
A day.
Even the worst of days.
Cannot hold all of you.
Think of what a single day cannot see.
It cannot see the years of quiet trying.
The times when you showed up and you didn't have it in you.
The love that you gave to others when you were running on empty.
All those times when you chose again and again and again.
Bad day has no memory of that.
But you do.
And a season.
Even a long difficult one,
Is not the whole story.
Remember in nature,
The tree doesn't cease to be a tree in winter.
It's still rooted.
Still alive beneath the surface.
Still quietly becoming.
And so are you.
Even now.
Especially now.
Place a hand on your heart if that feels okay.
Feel it beating.
Steady and faithful.
It kept going through everything.
Through every hard day.
Every failure.
Every moment you'd wish you'd done differently.
It just kept going.
That heart of yours has loved people,
Has ached for them.
Has broken open and somehow.
.
.
Remarkably,
Found a way to stay open anyway.
That is not nothing.
That's not the heart of someone that is failing.
That's the heart of someone who is human.
And being human means you have days that break you a little.
Seasons that ask too much.
Chapters that you would rewrite them if you could.
That's not evidence of your unworthiness.
It's evidence that you were here.
That you tried.
That it mattered enough to hurt.
I'd like to offer you something to carry.
Not as demands,
Not as things you have to believe right now,
Just as tiny little seeds.
Let them land wherever there is softness.
I am not my worst day.
I am not the harshest thing I have ever thought about myself.
I am allowed to have gotten it wrong and still be worthy of kindness.
I am more than this chapter.
I am still becoming and that is enough.
Allowing those affirmations to land.
Let them settle wherever feels right.
Beginning to bring your awareness back to the room around you.
Perhaps noticing the surface beneath you.
Your body in contact with the surface.
The sounds.
The light.
Taking one more slow breath in.
And breathe it all the way out.
Before you open your eyes.
Just rest here for one more moment.
You came here today.
In the middle of whatever you're carrying.
You showed up for yourself.
That matters.
You matter.
Not because of what you produce or achieve or get right.
Simply because.
You are here.
Still trying.
Still open Still you.
Beautiful you.
When you're ready.
Gently open your eyes.
And go gently with yourself today.
You deserve that.
You
