Today's meditation practice is to be with yourself as you are.
An 8th century monk once wrote,
And I quote,
This,
In brief,
Is the mark of complete wisdom.
Again and again,
The capacity to watch the changes taking place in the body and mind.
It helps to remind ourselves that we're not our thoughts or emotions.
We are the awareness of them.
This meditation can help bring space and stillness to your day and serve as a reminder that you are pure awareness,
Pure consciousness.
Let's try this for a short while now.
Begin by sitting up straight and getting settled into a comfortable position.
Gently close your eyes and allow your body to soften.
Take a deep inhale through your nose and slowly exhale out through your mouth.
Observe any thoughts,
Emotions and sensations in the body that may come and then gently let them go,
Without judging,
Getting caught up or attached.
Just being and watching.
Remember,
You are pure awareness.
You are the observer of the changes taking place in the body and mind.
We'll do this for a few minutes.
Relax and be with yourself in the stillness.
As thoughts and sensations arise,
Simply observe,
Let go and gently come back to the stillness and silence.
Our minder time.
We've come to the end of the session now.
Each time you do the meditation you'll have a different experience.
You can return to this meditation at any time to help bring space and awareness into your day.
When you feel ready,
Slowly bring yourself back to your surroundings and open your eyes.
