Welcome back to the mycelial growth course.
I'm Maru,
Your guide through this journey of natural wisdom and personal growth.
Yesterday we established our foundations by connecting to the network.
Today we'll deepen that connection by focusing on sensing.
How we receive and interpret information from our environment,
Much like the sophisticated information exchange that occurs within mycelium networks.
The emotives that are practiced today includes longer periods of silence than yesterday.
These extended transitions into silence are intentional.
They create space for your own internal wisdom to emerge.
Just as a developing mycelial network becomes more self-sufficient over time,
Your practice will start to pick up its own pace.
During these silences there is nothing to achieve or do.
Simply remain present with whatever arises,
Allowing your awareness to deepen naturally.
Let's begin our second session together.
Find a comfortable position and take a moment to settle in.
You can close your eyes or keep a soft gaze downwards if that's more comfortable to you.
Try to recall the connection you established yesterday.
Those thread-like extensions reaching into the ground beneath you.
Feel how they're already a bit more established today,
Ready to receive and transmit information.
In nature,
Mycelium networks function as sophisticated communication highways.
When one tree is under attack from insects or illness,
It sends warning signals through the mycelium to neighboring trees,
Allowing them to prepare their defenses.
This natural internet has been exchanging information for millions of years.
Today,
We'll explore how we can become more attuned to the subtle information constantly available to us.
Let's begin by bringing your awareness to the sensations at the surface of your skin.
Without looking,
Can you feel the subtle movements of air,
Temperature variations,
The texture of your clothing?
Like the hyphal tips of mycelium that sense their environment,
Your skin is an intelligent boundary existing out of billions of organisms that both protect and connect you to your surroundings.
As we transition into silence,
Simply receive.
No need to categorize or analyze,
Just notice the continuous stream of sensory information.
Now direct your attention inwards.
Can you sense the subtle communications happening within your body?
Perhaps it's hunger or thirst,
Tension or ease.
Just as those trees sending chemical signals through mycelium,
Your body has its own signaling system.
The key is learning to listen.
During this silence,
Practice receiving these internal messages without immediately responding to them.
Simply acknowledge what your body is communicating.
Now let's gently bring your hands about six inches apart,
Palms facing each other and with your eyes closed or softly focused.
Sense the subtle energy between your palms.
You might feel warmth,
Tingling or a slight magnetic resistance.
This energy field exists through and beyond your body,
Similar to how mycelium networks respond to electromagnetic fields in the soil.
As we move into silence,
Experiment with moving your hands slightly closer than further apart and notice how the sensations change.
There is no right or wrong experience,
It's just information.
Now imagine that your awareness extends beyond your physical body.
Like mycelium extending through soil,
Without straining,
Sense the presence of others following this course right now.
Others in the room,
Through a more subtle awareness of shared space and energy.
In forest ecosystems,
Even trees of different species communicate through shared mycelial networks.
We too have this capacity for resonance with others.
In this longer silence,
Explore this field of shared awareness.
Notice if you can sense subtle shifts in the room's energy as we sit together.
And for our final practice of today,
Bring all these levels of awareness together.
External sensations,
Internal messages,
Energetic awareness and network resonance.
Allow them to exist simultaneously in your consciousness.
This multidimensional awareness mirrors how mycelium networks process information from countless sources simultaneously,
Creating an integrated picture of the entire ecosystem.
As we enter our final silence for today,
Rest in this integrated awareness.
Nothing to do,
Nowhere to go.
Just being present with the complete field of information available to you.
Now gradually bring your attention back to your physical body.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Feel yourself fully present in the room once again.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Thank you for your presence during today's session.
The quality of silence we shared today was deeper than yesterday.
Like a mycelium network that becomes more efficient over time,
Your capacity to sense and process information is already growing.
Before tomorrow,
I invite you to take a few moments during your day to practice this multi-level sensing.
It might be while waiting in line or sitting in a meeting or walking outside.
Just briefly check in with external sensations,
Internal messages,
Your energy field and your connection to others around you.
Tomorrow we'll explore day 3.
Transformation.
Breaking down barriers.
Where we'll discover how mycelium's ability to transform obstacles into nutrients can inspire our approach to life's challenges.
Remember that this practice isn't about perfection.
It's about developing your natural capacity for connection and information exchange.
Thank you for your time.
