I wrote this poem as a response to someone asking me to "tell me about myself". It really made me think, who am I? Am I? I hope it helps you connect to yourself. // I am made of breath Of lung Of star sung ocean sand Heart hand I am dreamed and I am dreamer Awakening my true nature. I am child I am wish I am mother I am kiss I am earth And blood And skin Leaning to life and looking within. All these things and more am I? No separate self is there to find. I am fresh water, Honey, river, free Veins of the world Roots of the tree I am the moon in all her phases I am the prairie when fire razes All bloom, and heat, and I am still, the rains of compassion That blazes cannot kill I am the sound of the bell, I am emptiness The spiral form Of snails shell. I am space Unworked clay, I am the moment night meets the day. Returning Forgetting remembering again. I am made of meaning And mean nothing by it, Just breath, inhale Everything in a moment, Yet can’t be held.

I am made of breath,

Of lung,

Of star,

Sung,

Ocean,

Sand,

Heart,

Hand.

I am dreamed and I am dreamer,

Awakening my true nature.

I am child,

I am wish,

I am mother,

I am kiss.

I am earth and blood and skin,

Leaning to life and looking within.

All these things and more am I,

No separate self is there to find.

I am fresh water,

Honey,

River,

Free,

Veins of the world,

Roots of the tree.

I am the moon in all her phases,

I am the prairie when fire raises.

All bloom and heat and I am still,

The rains of compassion that blazes cannot kill.

I am the sound of the bell,

I am emptiness,

The spiral form of snail shell.

I am space,

Unworked clay,

I am the moment night meets the day.

Returning,

Forgetting,

Remembering again.

I am made of meaning,

I mean nothing by it.

Just breath,

Inhale,

Everything in a moment,

Yet can't be held.
