Greetings,
Bed flyer.
It's time to close your eyes and find a comfortable position so that the magic can begin.
Adjust your pillow and wiggle your body until you find a spot that feels just right,
As if your bed is a cloud supporting the weight of each part of your body perfectly.
As you lay in your bed,
Observe the sensation of your breath moving in and out of your lungs.
Notice as each part of your body becomes heavier,
Sinking into the mattress,
From your feet all the way up to your head.
Take a deep breath in,
And then while you exhale for as long as you can,
Blow out all the experiences of your day.
Feel a wave of calm contentment flow through you as you take another deep,
Full breath through your nose.
Hold for a moment,
Then with a sigh through your mouth,
Let everything go.
You feel as light as a feather as your bed gently begins to float upward.
You sense some light coming into your room from outside as your curtains slowly open.
You feel a pleasant,
Cool breeze across your face and the air smells fresh.
Your window seems to have disappeared as your bed slowly floats outside and rises above the towns and cities that you know well.
As you rise higher,
The houses,
Trees and parks get smaller and begin to look like the bird's eye view of a 3D map.
The horizon stretches far and wide.
You wonder where your bed will take you tonight,
But you trust it will be someplace unique to discover.
As your bed glides softly to land,
You hear a gentle splash and the calm,
Rhythmic lapping of waves.
Unperturbed,
You look over the side of your bed and notice that it's floating along a river like a raft.
You are lulled by the lilting sensation as your bed subtly sways side to side.
The air is earthy,
Fresh and moist.
You relax your head back into your pillow and look up to see that the sky above you looks like a radiant,
Crisp blue painted canvas stretched and held by a canopy of ombre green foliage.
It's humid,
So you remove your blankets and feel the breeze caress your skin.
After some time,
The current knowingly guides your bed to shore.
As you step off your bed and make your way to the forest,
You observe as it ripples warm with each step you take in the warm,
Shallow,
Sparkling water.
You see a well-trodden path and decide to follow it.
The sun is just beginning to set and you observe how the shades of green all around you shift as the sky takes on hues of red and orange.
You breathe in the petrichor of the rainforest.
Looking back,
You see a family of pink river dolphins pause briefly to eye your bed and whistle to each other before diving below the surface of the water one by one.
You can still hear their clicking as you walk on and you imagine their sleek bodies leaping out,
Pirouetting,
And diving back into the water playfully.
As you enter the jungle,
The wind rustling through the trees seems to wordlessly whisper secrets to you and you open your heart to its wisdom.
Listening closer now to the symphony of rainforest sounds,
You hear insects buzzing and frogs croaking.
You pause to watch a tree frog hop by and leap into the bushes.
As you continue along the path,
Which is now dappled by the light of the setting sun,
You cross a line of leafcutter ants carrying leaves,
Some far larger than themselves,
Back to their colony.
Watching them work,
You notice that there are different ants,
Small and big workers,
Which each seem to know their roles and silently communicate.
You marvel at their strength,
Coordination,
And collective effort.
Their movements are so harmonious they seem almost as if they're choreographed.
You leave them to their work,
Listening to their rustling sound as you walk on.
You hear the call of a bird and look up to see a macaw with purple-tipped wings and a yellow tail soaring above the branches.
On a lower branch,
A pair of toucans cock their heads left and right inquisitively,
As if to say,
We haven't seen you here before.
You take a moment to sit down on a fallen log,
Listening to the toucans call to one another from the branches above,
No doubt gossiping about your identity.
In the bushes below the trees,
You see beautiful pink orchids.
Their sweet fragrance drifts through the air to where you're sitting.
You feel a sense of calm,
Imagining how the orchids chose the same spot as you to rest under the protection of the tall trees.
A howler monkey swings past on the branches above,
Calling out loudly.
He moves quickly from one branch to the next,
Sometimes doubling back on his path as if he's not really sure where he's headed.
A brown-throated sloth blinks and slowly turns its head towards the monkey with mild irritation,
Then looks down at you.
Though somewhat curious,
The sloth yawns and decides to go back to sleep for a little bit longer,
Sensing that you are a friend.
You find yourself yawning back and decide to make your way back to your bed so you can rest.
The ground below your feet is cushioned with layers of fallen leaves and moss,
And though you are barefoot,
It feels like you're wearing plush slippers.
A group of five iridescent butterflies flutter past you as you walk.
Their colors and patterns seem to shift in the light as they float up into the canopy,
Like bubbles blown from a wand.
You see your bed waiting expectantly for you,
Embraced by the placid waters of the riverbank.
You lay back down on your bed.
Exhausted from your adventure,
You are eager for the comfort of your bed as it floats on the swift current of the river.
You gaze up at the lush canopy,
Which is now illuminated by the first stars of the evening.
The constellations begin to emerge,
Twinkling majestically against the darkening sky and reflected like glitter dusted on the jungle all around.
The soothing hum of the rainforest becomes a lullaby that cascades over and around you like a warm blanket.
As you float along,
You feel a profound sense of tranquility as you reflect on the wonders of the rainforest,
The sounds of nature,
The vibrant colors of the planti,
And the rhythmic energy of life.
You feel a deep connection to all the animals you have met tonight.
Your heart feels full.
As your bed takes flight,
You feel yourself begin to drift to sleep,
Knowing that the Amazon rainforest will keep watch over you as your bed makes the journey back to home.
You feel safe and loved.
