Heart's Desire Meditation by the Mindful Life Coach This guided meditation is intended to help you uncover your deepest heart's desire by helping you tap into the core part of you that knows what you want,

What is best for you and what you need to bring you into alignment with that which brings you joy,

Fulfilment,

Meaning and purpose.

Begin by getting into a comfortable position.

You may wish to sit upright or lie down on a mat.

Gently close your eyes or gently soften your gaze,

Focusing on the tip of your nose and bring your attention to your breath.

Gently breathing in through the nose,

Hold the breath for a few seconds and breathe out through the mouth,

Emptying your lungs and relaxing with each exhale.

Again,

Breathe in through the nose,

Hold and out through the mouth all the way to the tip of the exhalation,

Feeling each muscle in your body loosen and relax.

Sinking deeper into the floor,

Breathe in through the nose,

Hold and breathe out,

Feeling more and more relaxed,

Letting go of any tension you may be holding on to,

Releasing any expectations or worries,

Finding a quiet inner peace in this moment.

Continue breathing in this way until you find your natural rhythm.

Notice your lungs as they expand and contract.

Notice the steady rise and fall of your chest.

Notice how you feel more and more relaxed with each exhale,

Creating space in your mind and body to be filled with the insights you will receive through this experience.

Now,

Bring your attention to your feet and slowly begin to scan your body upwards,

Becoming aware of any sensations as they arise.

Just start to notice.

Notice your toes,

Just start to notice.

Notice your toes,

Your ankles,

Your calves,

Your shins,

Your knees,

Your thighs,

Your pelvis,

Your buttocks,

Feeling your body relax more and more with each exhale,

Breathing in and out.

Move your attention up to your stomach,

Up through your chest,

To your heart,

Your lungs,

Up to your throat,

Feeling the body sink deeper and deeper into a relaxed state.

And as you breathe in and out,

Move your attention from the base of your spine all the way up your back.

Bring your attention to your shoulders,

Down to your arms,

Your elbows,

Your wrists,

Your wrists,

Hands and fingers,

Releasing any tension you may be holding onto,

Letting it just melt away.

Move your attention now up to your throat,

Your jaw,

Your cheeks,

Your ears,

Your nose,

Eyes,

Forehead,

All the way up the back of the head,

Up to the top of your crown.

Now feel your body in its entirety,

Breathing gently in and out,

Moving up and down and feeling a wave of relaxation fill you from head to toe,

Ready for this visual journey that awaits.

I now invite you to visualise your favourite scene in nature.

It may be somewhere you've been before,

Somewhere you've seen in a photo,

It could be a garden,

A beach,

A forest,

A mountain,

Or by a lake,

Somewhere beautiful and peaceful where you can feel safe.

Imagine walking slowly through this scene in nature and in your mind start to notice all the things around you.

What do you see?

What do you hear?

What can you smell?

What sensations are you aware of?

Can you feel the air on your skin?

Can you feel the ground beneath your feet?

And how do you feel in this beautiful place,

In this moment?

Just take a moment to appreciate the beauty of where you are.

You now notice a path made of leaves and so you start to follow it,

Feeling relaxed and safe and secure with every step you take.

As you walk along the path you encounter an animal.

Perhaps it is an animal you feel some kind of connection to,

Maybe you cross paths with an animal or creature today,

Perhaps it's a mythical creature that your imagination has a connection to.

Allow it to follow you if it feels safe to do so,

Because it will have many valuable messages for you along this journey.

Ahead of you,

You see a circle made out of beautiful flowers.

This is a sacred circle where you are safe from any real or imagined external influences,

Protecting you for the entire duration of this visual journey.

Nothing can penetrate this circle you do not invite in.

Your animal guide may sit outside the circle or you may wish to invite it inside to sit with you.

Inside the circle are seven wooden boxes,

Each with a clear label.

These boxes contain the details of your heart's desires with regard to seven key areas of your life.

When you are ready,

Pick up the first box marked home.

Inside is a photograph of you standing outside the home of your dreams.

What does this home look like?

Is it where you're currently living?

Is it where you're going to be in the future?

Is it where you're going to be when you grow up?

Inside is a photograph of you standing outside the home of your dreams.

What does this home look like?

Is it where you're currently living or a different home?

Where is it located?

Who are you living with?

Who lives nearby?

What is located around you that makes this perfect home for you?

How does this home make you feel?

What emotions does it evoke?

Take a minute to visualise and experience what it would be like,

Feel like,

To live in this home.

And when you have a clear idea of what your heart desires,

Turn to the animal that you met at the start of the journey and ask it,

What do I need to do to make this dream home and living arrangements my reality?

Listen to what the animal has to say.

Once you have heard the guidance that was meant for you,

Close the box and thank the animal for its guidance.

You may now pick up the second box marked relationships.

This box contains your relationships.

This box contains your heart's desires regarding the most important relationships in your life.

Your romantic relationships,

The relationships you have with friends,

Family,

Your children.

And when you are ready,

Open the box and pick up the photographs of you with the most important people in your life.

It may be a single photograph with everybody together or several photos showing you separately with each person.

What does your heart wish to see?

What would you love to experience in each of these relationships?

And how do these beautiful relationships make you feel?

Take some time to study the photos and feel the emotions that these experiences would evoke.

When you have a clear idea of what your heart desires,

Turn to the animal you met at the start of the journey and ask it,

What do I need to do to make these wonderful relationships my reality?

Listen to what the animal has to say.

Once you have taken note of this advice that was meant for you,

Close the box and thank the animal for its guidance.

It is now time to open the third box marked career.

This box contains your heart's desire regarding the kind of work you would love to do,

The job or career which will provide you with pride,

Satisfaction and the level of security and financial freedom you need.

When you are ready,

Open the box and take out the photograph of yourself doing this job that is perfect for you.

Perhaps it's a photo of you at the peak of this career,

Or a photo of you with your colleagues or prospective clients,

Or a photo showing you doing a typical daily task connected to that career.

Visualise it in your mind's eye.

Where are you?

What are you doing?

Who's there with you?

What do you look like?

What are you wearing?

What kind of facial expression do you have?

When you have a clear idea of what your heart desires,

Turn to the animal you met at the start of the journey and ask it.

What do I need to do to make this ideal career my reality?

Listen to what the animal has to say.

Once you have listened to the guidance that was meant for you,

Close the box and thank the animal for its guidance.

It is now time to open the fourth box marked Health.

This box contains your heart's desire when it comes to your physical health.

It is what your body needs to allow you to live your best life with comfort and vitality,

The habits and behaviours you need to adopt,

Or the self-love,

Care and healing you need in order to let go of your pain.

When you are ready,

Open the box and take out the photograph of yourself at your peak optimal health.

What do you look like?

What are you doing?

What would it allow you to do if you were in this ideal physical state?

What kind of lifestyle would you have?

And how would you feel?

Allow yourself to feel the emotions of how it would feel if you were living in a body that was in optimum health.

And when you have a clear idea of what your heart desires,

Turn to the animal you met at the start of the journey and ask it,

What do I need in order to achieve this peak state of physical well-being?

Listen to what the animal has to say.

Once you have heard the advice that was meant for you,

Close the box and thank the animal for its guidance.

It is now time to open the fifth box marked emotional well-being.

This box contains your heart's desire when it comes to your mental state and emotional resilience.

Achieving a sense of love,

Peace,

Joy and connection to yourself and the world around you.

When you are ready,

Open the box and take out the photograph of you at your peak mental and emotional state.

What do you look like?

What expression do you have?

What does your posture look like?

What are you doing?

What does your posture look like?

What are you wearing?

Where are you?

And what are you doing?

How would it feel to enjoy this emotional state?

Name the feelings and emotions you want to be experiencing.

When you have a clear idea of your heart's desire,

Turn to the animal you met at the start of the journey and ask it,

What do I need to do to achieve my optimum emotional well-being state?

Listen to what the animal has to say.

Once you have taken in the advice that was meant for you,

Close the box and thank the animal for its guidance.

It is now time to open the sixth box,

Marked financial freedom and abundance.

What lifestyle or luxury items would you love to enjoy if there were no limitations?

What activities or experiences would bring you the most joy and satisfaction?

When you are ready,

Open the box and take out three photographs of yourself at your peak.

When you are ready,

Open the box and take out three photographs of yourself enjoying this lifestyle or luxury items.

What are you doing in each picture?

What do you look like?

Who else is there with you?

And how do you feel seeing yourself enjoying these things?

When you have a clear idea of your heart's desire,

Turn to the animal you met at the start of the journey and ask it,

What do I need to do to achieve this level of abundance and financial freedom?

Listen to what the animal has to say.

Once you have received the advice that was meant for you,

Close the box and thank the animal for its guidance.

It is now time to open the seventh box,

Marked spirituality.

Perhaps you're already on a spiritual path,

Practice of faith,

Or you are in contemplation as to whether this is something you would be open to exploring in future.

When you are ready,

Open the box and take out a photograph of yourself enjoying your highest state of spiritual connection.

Whether it's a connection to the divine,

Or a connection to the universe,

Whether it's a connection to the divine,

Connection to the planet or universe,

Connection to humanity,

To love,

Or even just a greater understanding of yourself.

What would it look like?

How would it feel?

What steps would you need to take to develop this aspect of yourself?

And how would this connection make you different to how you are now?

When you have a clear idea of your heart's desire,

Turn to the animal you met at the start of the journey and ask it,

What do I need to do to achieve my highest state of spiritual connection?

Listen to what the animal has to say.

Once you have received the advice that was meant for you,

Close the box and thank the animal one final time for its guidance.

Now that you have opened all seven boxes and gained insight into your heart's desire,

It's time to stand up and step out of the circle,

Ready to make your way back to the here and now.

Thank your animal guide just one last time and begin to walk back along the path of leaves,

Stretching your arms and legs and counting your steps backwards from 20 to 1.
