A self-love meditation by the Mindful Life Coach.

This self-love meditation is intended to help you connect with your inner child,

To remember the essence of who you are and to provide the affirmation and nurture you seek.

You may sit comfortably in a chair or lie down on a mat with your arms on your lap and your legs uncrossed.

Close your eyes or soften your gaze and connect to this very moment through the breath.

Taking a deep breath in through the nose,

Hold and release the air out through the mouth to the very tip of the exhalation.

And again,

In through the nose,

Hold and out through the mouth.

In through the nose,

Hold and out through the mouth.

Keep breathing like this until you find your natural rhythm,

Noticing the steady rise and fall of your chest as you breathe in and out.

Allow yourself to relax and be fully present,

Feeling your body relax more and more with each exhale,

Releasing any tension you may be holding on to,

Anticipating the beautiful journey you are about to embark through the power of your mind.

And invite your higher self to lead you on this journey.

Your higher self is that part of you that is wise and fearless,

That guides and protects you always and advocates for your greater good.

It is that part of you that knows exactly what you need to heal and to unconditionally love the miracle that you are.

Visualize yourself in a beautiful,

Enchanted forest.

Use your childhood imagination to create a magical scene in your mind's eye.

Perhaps the grass is pink and the sky is purple.

Maybe there are mythical creatures and are drawn on sun with a smiley face.

Anything that helps create a scene which connects you to your idea of a happy childhood.

You are walking along a path admiring everything,

Admiring the scenery,

Patting rabbits,

Enjoying the magic of it all.

Feeling your childlike spirit stirring within you and then you see a cottage in the distance so you start walking towards it.

As you approach you sense familiarity and a feeling of security.

You know you are safe here and as you open the door and walk in you see a child playing on the floor.

They don't notice you at first.

You take a moment as you admire the innocence of this child playing.

As you approach the child and get closer you realize this child is actually you and as you realize this you feel an overwhelming sense of love and compassion.

This is a reflection of you,

Of you,

Your inner child.

You speak to them and you say I am sorry,

Please forgive me,

Thank you and I love you.

You tell this younger version of yourself that she has done an amazing job in keeping you safe until now but I can take it from here.

You hold them in your arms and you feel what they feel.

Safe,

Loved,

Protected and free.

As you hold the child in your arms you can say anything you want to them.

What would you like to say to your inner child?

Speak from the heart.

Once you have spoken allow your inner child to respond and take a moment to enjoy this connection.

Before this meeting ends look the child in the eyes and tell them for you I choose to release all negative self-talk.

For you I choose to no longer apologize for being me.

For you I love and accept myself for all that I am.

For you I will take the best care of myself without apology.

For you I no longer require validation from others.

For you I know my worth.

For you I will trust that life is always working in my favour.

For you I will no longer worry about the future.

For you I choose to be grateful for all that I am.

For you I will always tell myself that I am worthy and I am enough.

Hold your inner child in a warm loving embrace.

Act this out in real life if you feel comfortable to do so and take a deep breath in as your higher self and inner child merge and become one.

Can you feel the child's spirit in your heart?

You know your inner child is safe now and protected by your higher self.

You know your inner child is safe now and protected by your higher self.

Place your hands over your heart,

Feel your own heartbeat,

The same heartbeat that you had as a child still keeping you alive to this day.

Feel that overwhelming sense of gratitude at being alive at this moment and carry that gratitude in your heart as you return to the present moment.

When you are ready,

Count from one to ten and open your eyes and if you have any messages from your inner child or higher self that you wish to record,

Write them down in your journal.

Ten,

Nine,

Eight,

Seven,

Six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Open your eyes and welcome back.
