Let your body settle in whatever way feels most comfortable to you Now when you're ready close your eyes and imagine yourself just outside the edge of a forest There's a trail in front of you.
You notice the soft earth beneath your feet You follow the trail into the forest You might walk slowly step by step or maybe you feel playful As you move deeper into the forest you notice the trees around you.
They are tall,
Ancient.
These are grandmother trees.
Strong,
Patient.
The air smells rich and alive Eventually the trail opens into a clearing Sunlight filters through the forest canopy above You decide to lay down in this clearing.
You allow yourself to drift off And when you eventually open your eyes within your dream you notice you're not alone Nearby you see a woman you recognize.
A grandmother.
Someone who feels familiar even if she's no longer with you in life You feel her presence before anything else.
Her warmth,
Her support And as you relax there you begin to notice others.
More grandmother ancestors emerging gently from the forest.
Some you recognize,
Some you don't And even if you don't know their names you know who they are You can feel it in your body.
They are here for you Some remain nearby quietly,
Others come closer Maybe one gently squeezes your foot,
Another rests a hand on your forehead And the feeling that washes over you is deeply familiar.
Comfort,
Nurturing A sense of being loved Around you the grandmothers are living their lives.
Some are foraging,
Some are gathering leaves Some are cooking,
Crafting,
Playing,
Resting against the ancient trees Each of them doing what they do and all of them connected to you You feel it in your bones.
You are not separate from them You slowly drift off into dreamland again And after a while you begin to walk back along the trail out of the forest Before you leave you turn and look back at the clearing You may no longer see your grandmother ancestors there but you can still feel them You carry their support,
Their wisdom,
Their love They remind you without words that you are worthy When you're ready gently bring your awareness back to your body To your hands,
Your feet,
And the surface beneath you Notice your breath You begin to step back into your day carrying what's meant to be with you And when it feels right you can softly open your eyes
