Hello my friend.
I'm so glad you are here.
Because today,
We're going to take a beautiful little journey together.
A journey somewhere magical.
A journey through the colors of a rainbow.
But before we begin,
Let's take a moment to become very still.
Very comfortable and very peaceful.
So,
Wherever you are,
Find a cozy position.
Perhaps you're lying down in your bed.
Perhaps you're resting in the car.
Or resting somewhere soft and comfortable at home.
Let your body become heavy.
You don't need to do anything right now.
There is nowhere you need to go.
Nothing you need to finish.
For this little while,
You can simply be here.
Let's begin by noticing your breath.
You don't need to change it.
Just notice it.
Feel the gentle movement of your tummy as you breathe in.
And as you breathe out.
Let's take one slow breath together.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
With every breath.
Feel your body become a little softer.
Let your shoulders relax.
Let your hands become loose.
Relax your tummy,
Your legs and your feet.
Even the little muscles around your eyes can soften.
You can let your eyelids become heavy.
And now,
Imagine that your whole body is resting on a soft,
Fluffy cloud.
Nothing to hold up.
Nothing to carry.
You are just resting.
And today,
We're going on a journey.
A journey to a place where the sky has become filled with colour.
A place where red,
Orange,
Yellow.
Grain.
Blue.
Indigo,
And violet stretch across the sky.
Like a giant bridge made of light.
Today,
We are going on a journey through a rainbow.
So?
When you are ready.
Let's imagine that you are standing outside.
After a gentle shower of rain.
The ground beneath your feet is soft and fresh.
The air smells clean.
Tiny drops of water sparkle on the leaves around you.
And then.
.
.
You look up.
There it is.
A rainbow.
Stretching across the sky.
So enormous that it seems to reach from one side of the world to the other.
Take a moment just to look at it.
Notice the colors.
As you look,
You notice something very special.
At the end of the rainbow is a little pathway.
And this pathway is inviting you to follow it.
So,
Very gently,
You take your first steps.
And your rainbow journey begins!
The first colour you come to is red.
A warm,
Glowing red.
Like a beautiful sunset.
Like a ruby.
Like the warmth of a cozy blanket.
Imagine yourself walking through a field of tiny red flowers.
The flowers gently move in the breeze.
As you walk,
You feel something warm growing inside your chest.
A feeling of courage.
Red reminds us that we can be brave.
And being brave doesn't mean that we are never scared.
Being brave can simply mean taking one little step even when something feels new.
Did you know?
Red is one of the colors that our eyes can see very easily.
It has one of the longest wavelengths of visible light.
And that's one of the reasons red can stand out so strongly in nature.
You might notice red berries.
Red flowers.
Or even the beautiful red feathers of some birds.
So,
As you walk through this red world,
Remember,
You don't have to be fearless to be brave.
Sometimes courage is simply taking the next small step.
And sometimes that's enough.
Take a slow breath in.
And breathe it out.
And let that feeling of courage settle softly inside of you.
Your rainbow pathway now begins to glow orange.
The red slowly fades behind you.
And ahead is a warm orange world.
The sky is glowing like sunset.
Orange butterflies flutter through the air.
And little orange flowers open towards the light.
You feel a little smile beginning to appear on your face.
Because orange reminds us of joy.
The simple kind of joy.
The kind that doesn't need anything big.
Such as the joy of sunshine on your skin.
The joy of the sound of someone you love laughing.
The joy of jumping in puddles.
The joy you feel when you find something beautiful.
The joy of a warm hug.
A silly dance.
Or a favourite song.
Sometimes the happiest moments are very,
Very small.
Did you know orange is often associated with warmth?
Enthusiasm and energy.
And in nature,
We can find beautiful shades of orange in autumn leaves,
Sunsets,
Flowers,
Fruits,
And even the wings of butterflies.
Look around your orange world.
And notice how much beauty there is in the little things.
Take a breath in.
And as you breathe it out,
Think of one tiny thing that makes you happy.
You don't need to say it out loud.
Just let the feeling of it warm your heart.
And then keep walking slowly,
Peacefully towards the next colour.
The orange world becomes softer,
And suddenly everything around you begins to glow golden yellow.
You find yourself standing in a field beneath a warm morning sun.
Golden grasses sway gently around you.
The sunlight feels warm on your face.
And you notice that yellow feels like light.
Like sunshine.
Like hope.
Like the feeling that tomorrow is a brand new beginning.
Did you know we don't actually see the color yellow because objects contain yellow light inside them?
The color we see depends on which wavelengths of light reach our eyes.
And sunlight contains all the colours of visible light together.
A rainbow happens when sunlight passes through tiny water droplets in the air.
And the light bends,
Reflects and separates it into beautiful colours.
So every rainbow is really sunlight showing all the colours that were already there.
Isn't nature amazing?
And perhaps you can remember something from that.
Sometimes something beautiful is already there,
Even if we cannot see it straight away.
Just like the sunlight behind a cloud.
Just like a rainbow waiting for the rain to pass.
Just like the good things inside you that may sometimes be difficult to notice.
Take a slow breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine a tiny golden light glowing gently inside your heart.
You don't need to make it brighter.
You don't need to do anything.
Just know,
It's there.
Now,
Your rainbow pathway begins to turn green.
The golden field slowly becomes a lush,
Green forest.
Trees tower above you.
Their leaves moving gently in the breeze.
You walk beneath the trees and notice tiny ferns.
Moss-covered rocks little leaves.
And new plants beginning to grow.
The green reminds us of nature.
And green reminds us of growth.
Did you know?
Trees don't grow taller all at once.
They grow little by little.
Day after day.
Year after year.
And you are a little bit like a tree.
You don't need to grow everything all at once.
You don't need to know everything today.
You don't need to be perfect.
You are allowed to learn.
To make mistakes,
To try again,
And to grow slowly.
Now imagine that you are sitting beneath a beautiful old tree.
Its roots are deep beneath the earth.
Its branches reach towards the sky.
You can simply rest here for a moment.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
Growing takes time.
Rest takes time.
Becoming yourself takes time.
There is no need to rush.
When you are ready,
The pathway continues.
The green forest becomes quieter and suddenly you hear water.
You follow the sound.
Until you reach a beautiful blue lake.
The water is perfectly still.
The sky above you is blue.
The lake reflects the sky.
Until you can't quite tell where the sky ends and the water begins.
Everything is peaceful.
Blue can remind us of calm.
Of stillness.
Of quiet.
Did you know the sky appears blue because sunlight interacts with the gases and tiny particles in the Earth's atmosphere?
And blue light is scattered more strongly than many of the other colors?
And the ocean can look blue for different reasons too,
Including the way water absorbs and scatters light.
Nature is full of colour.
But it is also full of quiet.
And perhaps that's one of the most beautiful things about blue.
It reminds us that we don't always need to be busy.
We can pause.
We can breathe.
We can be still.
So let's be completely still for a few moments.
As you sit beside the blue water,
You notice another color beginning to appear.
A deep,
Peaceful shade of indigo.
Like the evening sky just before night.
The world around you becomes quieter.
And quieter.
And quieter.
Indigo reminds us of the quiet wisdom that can be found when we slow down.
Because when everything is noisy,
It can be difficult to hear our own thoughts.
But when we become still,
We can notice things we didn't notice before.
The sound of the wind.
The feeling of our breath.
The thoughts inside our mind.
The feelings inside our heart.
Did you know Indigo is one of the traditional seven colors named in the rainbow.
And the colours of a rainbow actually blend smoothly into one another.
There aren't really lines separating each colour.
Just like life,
One moment can gently flow into the next.
Nothing stays still forever.
Nothing stays exactly the same forever.
And that's okay.
You can change.
You can grow.
You can learn!
And you can become someone new while still being completely yourself.
And now you reach the final colour,
Violet.
The colour at the edge of your rainbow.
The sky around you becomes deep and dreamy,
Filled with tiny sparkling lights.
You look around and realize that you have arrived at the most magical place of all.
A quiet meadow beneath the evening sky.
Tiny flowers glow softly around you.
Fireflies dance in the distance.
And above you,
The rainbow stretches across the sky.
Every color glowing together.
Red,
Orange,
Yellow.
Green,
Blue,
Indigo,
And violet.
All different.
All beautiful.
And somehow,
When they all come together,
They create something even more beautiful.
A rainbow.
And perhaps this is one of the things a rainbow can teach us.
We don't all have to be the same.
We don't all have to shine in the same way.
We can have different personalities,
Different dreams.
Different feelings.
Different talents.
And different ways of seeing the world.
And,
Just like the colours of the rainbow,
Our differences can be part of what makes the world beautiful.
You look at the rainbow one more time.
And notice that its colors are beginning to softly glow around you.
Red gives you courage.
Orange reminds you to find joy in the little things.
Yellow reminds you that light can still be there,
Even when you can't see it.
Green reminds you that growing takes time.
Blue reminds you that you can always return to stillness.
Indigo reminds you to listen to the quiet wisdom inside you.
And violet reminds you to keep your sense of wonder.
Take one final breath beneath the rainbow.
Breathing in.
And slowly breathing out.
As you breathe out.
You can feel yourself becoming lighter.
Softer.
Sleep ya.
Now.
Begin to notice the soft surface beneath your body again.
Notice your body resting.
Notice your breath.
Feel your tummy gently rising.
And falling.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And fully breathe it out.
Feel your shoulders,
Your hands.
Your feet.
You are here.
Safe comfortable and relaxed.
And perhaps you can imagine that tiny rainbow of colours glowing inside of you.
A reminder that there is courage within you.
Joy within you.
Light within you.
Growth within you.
Peace within you.
Wisdom within you.
And there is wonder within you.
You don't need to hold onto any of these thoughts.
Just let them rest quietly inside of you,
Like little seeds.
And now there is nothing more you need to do.
If you are listening during the day,
You may gently open your eyes,
Stretch your body and move throughout your day again.
And if you are listening at bedtime,
You can stay right here,
Resting.
Breathing.
And allowing yourself to drift into a peaceful sleep.
Goodbye for now,
My friend.
