Hello and welcome to Mindful Mondays where we dedicate time to cultivate mindfulness and clarity in our lives.
Today we'll focus on mindfulness for decision-making,
A practice designed to help you connect with your inner wisdom and make choices with confidence and ease.
Find a quiet,
Comfortable space where you can sit or lie down,
Close your eyes and let's begin this journey together.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your lungs completely,
Gently release,
Allowing any tension to dissolve.
Feel the surface beneath you supporting your body and let your muscles relax,
Your awareness to the rhythm of your breath,
Noticing the cool air as it enters and the warm air as it leaves.
With each breath let go of distractions and bring yourself fully into this moment.
Allow your thoughts to settle like leaves drifting gently to the ground without forcing them away.
Simply observe them,
Acknowledging their presence,
Then return your focus to your breath.
In this space there's no need to judge or fix anything.
Just be here,
Now,
Fully present with your breath,
Your body and the stillness around you.
This is your time to connect inwardly.
As you continue to breathe deeply and naturally,
Bring your attention to the present moment.
Notice how your body feels,
Any areas of tightness,
Warmth or calm.
With each inhale imagine drawing in a sense of clarity and calmness,
And with each exhale release any lingering tension or uncertainty.
Now bring to mind a decision you've been considering.
It might be a small everyday choice or something more significant.
Allow this decision to come into your awareness without judgement or analysis,
Just as it is.
Notice how it feels to hold this decision in your mind.
Where do you feel it in your body,
Perhaps in your chest,
Your stomach or even your shoulders?
Take a moment to observe these sensations with gentle curiosity,
Without trying to change them.
Just notice.
As you sit with this decision,
Begin to explore the emotions attached to it.
Are there feelings of excitement,
Anxiety,
Fear or hope?
Let these emotions be present without pushing them away.
Recognize that each feeling is part of your experience and it's ok to feel exactly as you do.
Take a deep breath,
Sending compassion and kindness to any part of you that feels uncertain or overwhelmed.
Now shift your attention to the space of awareness that exists around these emotions and thoughts.
The space where you're simply an observer.
In this space there's no right or wrong,
No pressure or urgency.
It's a place of pure presence where you can connect with a deeper sense of knowing and intuition.
Imagine this space as a calm,
Clear lake.
Even when thoughts or emotions ripple the surface,
The water below remains undisturbed and clear.
This clarity is within you,
Ways accessible when you take a moment to pause and breathe.
As you sit by this inner lake of calm,
Allow yourself to pose a simple question,
Guarding your decision.
What would serve my highest good?
Don't rush for an answer,
Instead let the question rest in the stillness of your mind,
Like a pebble gently sinking to the lake's bottom.
Trust that the answer will arise when it's ready,
In its own time and in its own way.
For now,
Your task is simply to remain open and receptive.
If your mind begins to wander,
Gently guide it back to your breath,
Back to the stillness.
Trust in the process of unfolding,
There's no need to force clarity or to rush to a conclusion.
The wisdom you seek is already within you,
And it becomes clearer as you create space for it.
Sometimes the answer isn't in the thinking,
But in the feeling,
In the trusting and in the allowing.
As you continue to breathe,
Imagine your decision resting softly in your hands,
Surrounded by a warm,
Gentle light.
This light represents your inner wisdom and compassion,
Guiding you without pressure or judgement.
Take a moment to feel the weight of your decision in this light,
Notice if it feels lighter or manageable,
Or if any new insights arise.
Trust whatever comes up,
Knowing that it's part of your journey.
Take a few more breaths here,
Embracing the sense of calm and clarity that comes with this mindful space.
Remember,
Every decision is an opportunity for growth and learning,
And you have all the tools within you to make the choices that align with your highest self.
And you don't need to have all the answers right now,
Simply being present with your decision is already a powerful step forwards.
And now,
As we begin to close this meditation,
Take a moment to thank yourself for showing up today,
For taking this time to connect inwardly and to honour your decision making process.
Bring your attention back to your breath,
Feeling the gentle rise and fall and the support of the ground beneath you.
And when you're ready,
Slowly bring some movement back to your fingers and toes,
Gently stretching your body.
And when you feel ready,
Open your eyes,
Bringing this sense of mindfulness and clarity into the rest of your day.
And remember the calm and wisdom you've found today are always within you,
Ready to guide you whenever you need them.
