After,
Someone else's mood stays with you.
Sometimes,
An interaction ends,
But something from it does not fully leave.
A mood,
A tension,
That was not yours to begin with,
But still found a place inside your body.
And after that,
You may notice that you are carrying something you did not choose.
Not necessarily a full emotion,
Just a residue,
A weight,
A subtle internal shift.
If that happens,
It does not mean you are too sensitive.
It does not mean you are weak with boundaries.
It may simply mean your system is responsive.
It notices,
It absorbs,
It stays open long enough for other people's emotional tone to leave an imprint.
But not everything that enters needs to remain.
So before you carry this into the next hour,
Pause here.
Let the breath come in without holding their tone,
And let it leave without organizing yourself around it.
You do not need to push anything away.
You do not need to prove that it did not affect you.
You only need to begin noticing what is yours and what is not.
Feel your body,
Your hands,
Your chest,
Your center of gravity.
The simple fact of your own presence still being here under what lingered.
You are allowed to return to your own internal space.
Not by force,
Not by denial.
Just by remembering that what moved through you is not the same thing as what belongs to you.
Maybe some of it will take a little time to leave.
That is okay.
Release does not need to be dramatic,
To be real.
Let one breath carry a little less of it than another.
Not to empty yourself.
Just to stop holding it in place.
And let this be the shift.
You do not have to keep someone else's mood alive inside your body after they are gone.
You can feel that something passed through and still come back to yourself.
Someone else's mood.
