Good morning.
I'm Mark.
And I'm so glad that you have chosen.
To start your morning here with me.
Maybe you're still tucked up in bed for a few more minutes.
Or perhaps you've already made yourself a cup of tea or coffee.
And you're sitting somewhere,
Quietly before the day properly begins.
However you've arrived here.
Just give yourself.
These next few minutes.
You don't even need to be.
Fully awake yet.
You don't need to have worked out what today is going to look like later.
Because.
For now.
You can simply be.
Simply be here.
Take a comfortable breath in.
And let it leave you in its own time.
Maybe noticing the warmth of a mug in your hands if there is one or maybe the weight of the blankets around you.
The morning light beginning to find its way into the room.
Just.
.
.
Those little reminders that a brand new day.
.
.
Has arrived.
Before your mind starts running through everything that needs doing today.
I'd like to.
Remind you of something.
You don't have to live the whole day right now.
Because you only ever,
Need to meet it.
One.
Moment at a time.
This moment.
And then the next.
So take another easy breath.
And let your shoulders rest wherever they naturally want to rest.
Feeling,
The support.
Beneath your body.
And allowing yourself to arrive properly.
In this brand new morning.
There might be already thoughts waiting for you,
Like something you need to remember.
Someone that you have to speak to.
Or just a little worry about later.
And that's okay.
You don't have to chase any of it just yet.
Today can wait for another few minutes.
Perhaps you'd like to quietly say to yourself.
Today.
Is a brand new day.
Not a perfect day,
Not a day where.
.
.
You have to get everything right.
A new day.
One that has never happened before.
And there is perhaps something quite hopeful about that.
Whatever yesterday was like.
Are here now.
You have woken up,
You have met another morning in front of you.
Another opportunity to notice something good.
To laugh at something unexpected.
To enjoy your morning coffee,
To step outside and feel the morning air.
And maybe to have one conversation that makes the day.
A little brighter.
We can spend so much of our lives waiting for the big things to make us happy that we we sometimes forget.
How much of life is actually made up from these very seemingly ordinary moments.
A warm drink the morning light.
A favourite song playing.
Somebody who smiles at us as we pass them.
And that feeling of getting back home at the end of a long day.
So maybe today.
You don't need to go searching very far for something good.
Just be willing to notice it when it arrives.
And as you sit here,
Think gently about the person who is about to step into this new day.
You.
Not the person you think you should be.
Just.
You.
Exactly and perfectly as you are this morning.
Maybe you're feeling really energised.
Or maybe you could quite happily stay in bed under the covers for another three hours.
Either way.
You are allowed to begin from here.
You can take yourself into today.
A little patience.
You can speak to yourself kindly.
When things don't go exactly to plan.
And you can remember that one difficult moment really doesn't have to become a whole difficult day.
You can leave some room for possibility that,
Today,
Might pleasantly surprise you.
Something might go a lot better than you expect it to.
Something you've been worrying about.
Might turn out to be really manageable.
And a moment of happiness might find you.
When you weren't even looking for it.
So take another breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine making a little more room inside yourself.
For the day.
Ahead.
Maybe you'd like to choose a simple intention for this morning.
Nothing too complicated.
May be something like… I will take today as it comes.
Or I will look for the good that is already here.
Maybe simply,
Today,
I will be kind to myself.
Allow whichever words feel right to stay with you.
You don't have to remember them perfectly.
Just carry the feeling of them.
Before we finish.
Take a moment to notice where you are again.
The room around you.
The sounds of the morning.
Your body resting here.
Your breath moving in.
And doubt.
If you have a drink beside you,
Perhaps take another sip and really taste it.
Letting this ordinary little moment be enough.
When you're ready begin to bring a little movement back into your hands and your feet.
Maybe give a stretch if that feels good to your body.
Let your eyes open fully if they have been closed.
And then whenever it feels right.
Begin your day.
There's no need to rush it,
Just meet whatever comes next.
I really hope there are some lovely moments waiting for you today.
And if things become difficult at any point,
Remember that you can always come back to one breath.
One moment.
And begin again.
Have a beautiful rest of your day.
Go in peace.
Namaste.
