Close your eyes and allow your body to settle.
Either lying down or sitting with support.
Feel the weight of your body resting into the ground as if the earth itself were carrying you.
Now,
Place one or both hands over the centre of your chest.
Notice the warmth of your palms,
The gentle pressure,
The contact between hand and heart.
Let your hands be like listening ears,
Tuning into the quiet presence beneath them.
Begin to imagine that you are breathing directly through the heart.
Inhale as though fresh air enters through the chest,
Softening and cooling the space within.
Exhale as though warmth flows outward,
Spreading ease through your whole body.
No effort,
Just the natural rhythm of receiving and releasing.
With each breath,
Notice the subtle sensations in the chest,
Perhaps a soft pulse beneath the hand,
A faint expansion and contraction,
A quiet movement that has always been there.
Allow yourself to linger with these feelings as if you are listening to a secret language.
Now bring your attention to the texture of the heart space.
Does it feel open or guarded?
Heavy or light?
Still or restless?
Whatever you find,
Let it be welcomed,
Without judgment,
Without trying to change it.
Imagine your breath as spaciousness,
Wrapping gently around whatever is present.
Invite a small movement into this space,
Perhaps swaying side to side,
As though rocking the heart into comfort.
Perhaps a slow circular roll of the shoulders,
Making more room for the chest to breathe.
Let these movements be tender,
Almost imperceptible,
Guided by what feels good from within.
With every breath and every movement,
Feel the heart softening,
Loosening,
Glowing.
Imagine that a lantern of light lives here,
And with each exhale,
Its glow spreads further,
Into your belly,
Your arms,
Your whole body,
And then gently outward into the room.
Now rest in this glow,
Breathing through the heart,
Warmed by its light,
Carried by its rhythm.
Whisper inwardly,
I am safe here.
I am open here.
I am home here.
Stay here a little longer,
Letting the breath,
The touch,
The movement,
And the light weave together,
Until you feel the body completely bathed in ease.
When you are ready,
Release the hands softly,
And let the glow of the heart remain within you,
A quiet lantern to return to whenever you need.
