When we become adults, it feels like life has to become serious and before we know it we can trap ourselves into a routine that means we're living on autopilot. If you're desparate to break free from your routine and live consciously then I invite you to daydream. Let me help you explore the power of daydreaming so you can visualise and create the life you truly want.

Last week I posted a video challenging my audience to take 5 minutes to daydream.

Why?

To help them break out of the routine they've locked themselves into.

You see,

If we're not careful we get stuck doing the same thing day in,

Day out,

Thinking that we do not have a choice.

Now that's ok if life looks how you want it to.

The question is,

What if life doesn't look how you want it to?

You do have a choice.

You can continue as is,

Or you can decide to change.

If life is ok and you are happy with how it is going,

Then this is not for you.

However,

If you want help in making that change,

Then continue to listen.

It's easy for me to tell you to change,

As long as you know what you want to change.

What if you don't know?

That's where daydreaming will help.

Daydreaming allows you to break down any barriers that your reality contains.

After all,

A daydream is not real,

So barriers are unnecessary,

Which also means that you believe that anything is possible.

Now to begin.

Here are some basics to be aware of first.

You can take as much or as little time as you want to do this exercise to daydream.

If you can only spare 5 minutes,

Then that will do.

Everyone will be able to find 5 minutes.

You also need to be ready to use all of your senses.

You need to fully immerse yourself in your daydream.

See it in full colour,

Allow yourself to turn the volume up on all the sounds,

And let the feelings of what is happening take over your body.

Plus,

Make sure that you are not going to be disturbed so that you can fully experience what is going on without being distracted by the thought of being interrupted.

To begin,

Think about bookending the day.

It starts with how you want your day to begin.

When you wake up,

Where are you?

What do you see?

What is the first thing that you see?

And similarly,

How will your day end?

How would you like to wind down?

How does that feel?

Now,

The middle bit.

How do you spend your time?

Are you working?

If so,

Where are you?

What type of work are you doing?

Why are you doing that type of work?

Who do you work with?

How does your work day go?

And how does it end?

What else happens to you during your day?

What do you eat?

Where do you go?

Who do you meet?

Remember,

You are the creator of what you are doing,

Of your daydream.

So ensure that you're doing all the things you want to do,

As well as being with the people you want to be with.

You have all the resources you need in your daydream,

So everything and anything is possible.

Now,

How would you be different if your daydream was your reality?

Our experiences will naturally change us.

Therefore,

Instead of waiting to live your daydream to become a different person,

Become that person now.

Now that you have fully experienced your daydream,

You know what that person looks like,

How they talk,

How they hold themselves.

You can now step into being that person.

And finally,

It's time to make your daydream a reality.

Obviously,

Things don't just happen.

You do need to take action.

So decide which one small step will start you on your path to making your daydream a reality now.

Then once that is completed,

Choose your next small step.

This will build momentum,

Which will get you moving towards what you want your life to be like.

You see,

Daydreaming is a great exercise to do.

It gives you the freedom to create the life that you want in a safe space.

Then if you like what you see,

You can then take steps to make it your reality.

I'd love to hear how your daydreams are becoming your reality.

Let me know.
