Take a moment to arrive,
Not rushing,
Not fixing,
Just arriving here.
Let the body settle.
Feel where you are supported.
And allow the breath to begin to lengthen gently,
Naturally.
There are moments at the beginning of things.
Not when nothing is happening,
But when something hasn't fully opened.
You arrive at the edge of the familiar field of awareness.
And just beyond it,
Something waiting to open.
Not absent,
Not unreachable,
Just beyond the frame of habitual perception.
Awareness hovering at the threshold just before something widens.
The same pathways,
The same ways of seeing.
Perspective narrows.
The field feels smaller than it is.
And yet,
Just beyond that.
Something else.
A threshold.
A wider field of awareness waiting to be entered.
Not separate from you.
But larger than the boundaries through which you usually perceive yourself.
A field of awareness that invites connection beyond isolation.
Beyond fixed edges.
Beyond the habit of experiencing yourself as separate from the whole.
You can sense it.
A subtle invitation to widen the lens.
Awareness begins to loosen from its usual pathways.
The familiar frame through which you perceive begins to soften.
Space appearing where there was once certainty.
If your charcoal is not yet lit,
This is the moment to ignite it.
Allow it to fully catch,
To spark.
To begin to ash over.
Take your time.
Pause this meditation if you need a moment to do so.
And if your coal is already prepared,
Continue to follow the sound of my voice,
Letting yourself drop in.
As you sit here,
Begin to notice where your perception feels fixed,
Not judging,
Just noticing,
Where the edges feel defined or continuous.
And where there may be space just beyond that waiting to open.
Now gently place your first pinch of resin under the coals.
As the resin meets the heat,
The air shifts almost immediately.
There's a brightness,
Like the first breath after a storm has passed.
Clean.
Washed open.
Let yourself receive it through the breath,
No effort,
Just allowing.
The atmosphere begins to lift,
But it does not drift.
Instead,
It gathers.
The space around you may begin to feel larger.
As if the edges have softened.
Air moving differently.
Spaciousness is not absence.
It is what allows new relationships to emerge.
New ways of seeing,
New ways of understanding.
Awareness widening enough to perceive more fully.
As perception widens,
Awareness may begin to move beyond familiar structures of thought.
Opening access to the liminal.
To the subtle threshold between waking and dreaming,
Where intuition,
Image,
Sensation,
And insight move more freely together.
Let the inhale lengthen slightly.
And the exhale softens.
Now offer another small pinch of resin to the coals.
As it meets the heat,
The field begins to form.
Not empty,
But expansive.
A space that is both open and held.
The scent begins to unfold,
A brightness rising first,
Sun-warmed citrus,
Soft florals,
Fresh conifer tips,
Light-filled wood.
The scent moves through the space like light through an opening.
Brightening perception.
Clarifying attention.
Allowing awareness to expand without losing its center.
It expands outward like clouds moving through an open sky.
And then something begins to deepen.
A golden warmth gathering,
Rounded,
Radiant,
Dimensional.
Sweet wood,
Warm resin,
A soft honeyed glow.
Let yourself stay with that unfolding,
Not following it,
Not analyzing,
Just receiving.
Now,
Offer another pinch of resin.
As it blooms,
Notice how the experience expands in all directions without losing center.
Open.
Yet grounded.
Radiant.
Yet steady.
There is structure to this opening,
Something that supports it,
Guides it.
Holds it.
The resins know how to do this.
To open the field without overwhelming it.
To widen perception while maintaining clarity.
The aperture opens not by reaching further,
But by softening the frame through which you see.
What once appeared separate may begin to reveal relationships.
Light and shadow.
Inner and outer,
Known and unknown.
Not opposing forces,
But part of a larger wholeness asking to be perceived more completely.
You may begin to notice that your awareness is shifting,
Not through effort,
But through space.
The nervous system softens its grip on certainty.
Awareness becomes more spacious,
More fluid,
More receptive to what has not yet been considered.
Where there was one way of seeing,
Now there are many.
What once felt separate begins to reveal connection.
Awareness widening across relationships,
Patterns,
And possibilities.
You may begin to sense yourself not only as an observer within the field,
But as part of the field itself.
Awareness moving relationally.
Participating in something larger than the individual mind can alone perceive.
Insight arriving not through force but through openness.
Let that happen gently.
At the center of this expansion,
There is still a point of grounding.
A quiet core.
The body remains the center point.
Grounded.
Even as awareness expands.
Breath,
Anchoring perception as it widens.
The opening moves outward and at the same time draws inward.
You remain connected.
Present.
Expansion does not pull you away from yourself.
It allows you to experience yourself more fully within the living web of connection you already belong to.
Not dissolving the self,
But softening the illusion of separation.
Let the breath move through that space.
You may notice ideas beginning to move,
Connections forming.
A sense of flow returning.
Not because you have pushed,
But because something has opened.
Stay here for a moment in this widening field.
Notice what feels different,
Even subtly.
The quality of your awareness.
The texture of the space around you.
This is the aperture opening.
Not forced,
But revealed.
As the resin continues to softly bloom,
Allow this experience to settle.
What has opened here.
Can continue unfolding beyond this moment.
Not as intensity,
But as expanded relationship with perception itself.
Awareness remaining spacious enough to still receive what is emerging.
Spacious enough to hold complexity.
Spacious enough to perceive beyond polarity.
Spacious enough to remain in relationship with both mystery and clarity at once.
What has opened remains available.
What has shifted can continue to unfold.
May your perception remain clear and spacious.
May what is ready to emerge arrive in its own time,
In the right way,
In the right amounts.
And may you move forward from here with a wider lens and a steady center.
Something has opened here that can continue unfolding.
Return to ritual.
