Welcome to your 15 minute full body softening for sleep meditation.
Tonight we are gently returning to the body.
Allowing yourself to get comfortable.
Letting the bed hold you completely.
Take a slow breath in and a soft breath out.
Now bring your awareness to your feet.
Noticing any sensations.
Whether there is warmth or coolness or heaviness.
Or maybe there is very little sensation at all.
Allowing the feet to soften.
Moving to the lower legs.
Letting them release.
Your knees are soft.
Your thighs are heavy.
Hips and pelvis are supported.
Bringing awareness to your belly.
Perhaps this area is holding tension,
Emotion or protection.
Nothing to force,
Just allow a small softening.
The chest gently rising and falling.
The back sinking into the bed.
Shoulders release downward.
Arms are heavy.
Hands are soft.
Bringing awareness to the throat,
To the jaw.
The tongue is resting.
The eyes are soft.
Forehead is smooth.
If parts of your body feel different than they once did,
Meet them with kindness.
No judgment,
Just presence.
Feeling the whole body together.
Resting,
Supported,
Safe.
With each breath,
Allow the body to soften and sink deeper into the bed.
Nothing to hold,
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to manage.
Just this moment of rest.
Letting your awareness soften and drift gently toward sleep.
