Welcome to this meditation designed to help you reconnect with yourself and cultivate a sense of being at home within your soul and body.
Start by finding a comfortable position.
It can be either seated or laying down.
Take a moment to settle here and when you are ready gently close down the eyes if you feel safe doing so.
Allowing your body to settle into this position and this moment.
Now take a deep breath in through the nose all the way down into your stomach.
Then exhale slowly through the mouth releasing any tensions worries or distractions.
This is your time to come home to yourself to reconnect with your inner being and your soul.
Begin by bringing your awareness to all the parts of your body that are in contact with the ground beneath you.
Feel the support of the earth and how you are being held and supported by Mother Earth.
Imagine roots extending from your body into the earth,
Grounding and connecting you to the earth and this present moment.
Now bring your awareness to your body and let's slowly start to scan down the body noticing any areas of tension or discomfort.
With each inhale imagine that you're opening up creating space and with each exhale imagine releasing any tensions allowing your body to relax more deeply.
So bring your awareness to the top of your head.
Feel your forehead soften,
Your jaw unclench and your shoulders drop and relaxing.
Continue this gentle scan down through your body all the way down to your toes noticing and releasing any tension or discomfort.
Now shift your focus from the body to your breath.
Notice the natural rhythm of your breathing without trying to change it.
Observe the air entering in through your nostrils filling your lungs and the air leaving your body.
Feel the rise and the fall of your chest or the gentle expansion and contraction of your belly with each breath.
As you breathe remind yourself that this breath is a gift.
It's a reminder of the life force within you.
This breath connects you to your body,
Your mind and your soul.
Let's deepen this connection.
So as you inhale imagine drawing in a sense of peace and calm filling your entire being with each breath.
As you exhale release anything that no longer serves you,
Any tension,
Worry or self-doubt.
Imagine each breath bringing you closer to your true self,
To the core of who you are.
Feel a sense of warmth and comfort growing within you.
A reminder that you are safe,
You are supported and at home within yourself.
With each breath cultivate a sense of love and compassion for yourself.
Embracing who you are in this moment without any judgment,
Without any wanting to be different than who you are right now.
Now place one hand over your heart and the other over your belly.
Feel the connection between these two centers of your being.
With each breath imagine drawing in love,
Self-compassion and acceptance.
As you exhale let go of any resistance,
Any blocks that keep you from fully embracing yourself and from fully feeling at home within.
Breathe in connection and breathe out anything that separates you from yourself.
As we come to an end to this meditation take a moment to reflect on the connection that you've cultivated with yourself.
See if you can feel a sense of being at home within your body,
Within your mind and within your heart and soul.
Know that this sense of connection is always within you,
Accessible through your breath,
Through your awareness.
So whenever you feel disconnected,
Whenever you feel lost,
Remember that you can always return to this place of awareness and connection.
Let's take a few deep breaths together.
Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Two more like this.
In through the nose,
Filling the body with air and exhale out through the mouth,
Letting go and releasing.
Last one here.
Let this be your biggest and deepest breath of today.
Inhale and exhale.
Beautiful.
Let your breath come back to its natural rhythm and slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Start to wriggling your fingers and your toes,
Bringing some slow movement back to your body and when you feel ready you can open your eyes and come back.
I hope you carry the sense of connection and being at home within yourself into the rest of your day.
Thank you for joining me in this meditation.
