Returning Light

The seventh in a series of eight brief meditations, guiding the listener through contemplative reflection in preparation for the Winter Solstice. A reminder to the listener that darkness is always eclipsed by the light.

Meditation seven,

Returning light.

Imagine the horizon before dawn.

The sky is dark,

But you sense change.

Slowly,

A golden glow begins to rise.

The first rays of sunlight stretch across the snow,

The trees,

The earth.

The world warms,

Breathes,

Awakens.

As the light touches you,

Feel it expand within your chest.

Let it rise through you,

Filling you with clarity and hope.

This is the solstice promise.

The light always returns.

Inhale the glow.

Exhale into openness.

Let the warmth expand until your whole being shines with it.

Take it in.

Whisper silently,

I welcome the returning light within and around me.

Carry this promise forward that renewal is always near,

Even after the longest night.
