As you wake up,
Before reaching for your phone or getting out of bed,
Pause.
Notice that moment between sleep and waking.
No need to change anything.
Just observe.
Become aware of your breath.
The gentle rhythm of your inhale and exhale.
Let your body arrive before your mind starts planning.
Now gently bring your attention to your feet.
Notice where they are.
Temperature,
Any tingling,
Heaviness,
Or subtle sensation.
If you can,
Place your feet on the ground.
Feel the contact.
Imagine your feet connecting into the earth beneath you as if roots are extending downward.
No need to force imagery,
Just sense support.
Ask yourself quietly,
What do my feet feel right now?
Stay curious,
Not analytical.
Now slowly expand your awareness up your body.
Notice your legs,
Any tension,
Softness,
Or perhaps neutrality.
Your hips,
Your stomach,
Your chest.
You're not trying to relax anything,
Just noticing what's already here.
Now if you encounter tension,
Simply acknowledge it.
Something here feels tight.
And let that be enough.
Bring your attention to the most noticeable sensation in your body.
It could be tightness,
Warmth,
Buzzing,
Heaviness,
Even calm.
Instead of resisting it,
See if you can try to gently observe it.
Ask yourself,
Where exactly is it?
Does it have a shape or boundary?
Is it moving or still?
Imagine you're studying it with curiosity,
Kind of like a scientist.
If your mind wanders,
Just gently return to the sensation.
Now ask yourself,
Is there an emotion connected to this sensation?
No need to force an answer,
But just notice what arises.
Words,
Images,
Or maybe nothing at all.
Then ask,
What might my body be trying to communicate?
And let the answer be subtle.
Insight often comes quietly.
Now see if you can take a slightly deeper breath.
In through the nose and out through the mouth.
And feel your feet again on the ground.
Feel your whole body as one connected system.
Notice any shift,
Big or small.
Now gently set an intention for your day based on what you felt.
Today I move with steadiness.
Today I listen to my body.
Today I don't rush myself when I need to.
Let it feel grounded,
Not forced.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes and begin your day with this awareness still with you.
Thank you for listening.
