The day is done.
Whatever happened today,
The moments you are proud of,
The ones you would like to do differently,
The conversations that are still turning over in your mind.
You can set all of it down now.
Just for this moment.
Just for the next 10 minutes.
Find a comfortable position,
Laying down if you can.
Let your body be completely supported.
Let everything go heavy.
Close your eyes,
Take a slow breath in and let it go with a long quiet sigh.
Like you've been holding it all day.
Bring your awareness to your face.
Your forehead.
The space behind your eyes.
Notice any tension from screens,
From conversations,
From concentrating,
From holding it together.
And on your next exhale,
Let those muscles soften completely.
Your jaw,
Let it unclench.
Your shoulders,
The weight you've been carrying it.
Let them drop.
Just a little further than feels natural.
Down through your arms,
Your hands,
Open your palms slightly,
Releasing the grip of the day.
Into your chest,
Your heart space.
If there's anything compressed here,
Emotions you didn't have time to feel,
Things left unsaid,
Just acknowledge them.
You don't have to solve anything right now.
Just breathe into this space.
Down through your belly,
Your lower back,
Your hips,
Your legs,
Your feet,
Every part of your body now,
Soft,
Heavy,
Completely still.
The day is behind you.
I want to invite you to cast your gaze back over today,
Not to judge it,
But just to witness it,
Like watching a film of someone you love.
Where did you show up well today?
Even in a small way.
The patience you held,
The kindness you offered,
The difficult thing you did anyway.
Let yourself see it.
And let yourself receive it.
And if there's anything from today that you're hoping something you wish had gone differently or a moment you are replaying.
I want you to imagine taking it in your hands.
Holding it gently.
And then.
.
.
Placing it down.
Not forever.
Just for tonight.
Tomorrow is another chance.
Tonight,
You have done enough.
Imagine now a soft golden light beginning to fill the space around you,
Warm and gentle,
Like the last light of the evening sun.
This light asks nothing of you.
It simply offers rest,
Restoration,
A return to yourself after giving of the day.
Let it wash over you,
Through you,
Clearing away the emotional residue of today.
Energy that isn't yours to carry to bed.
The stress that belongs to tomorrow,
Not tonight.
All of it gently dissolving in this warm golden light.
What remains is you.
Clear and quiet and home.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to stop.
The day is complete.
Take one final breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
When you're ready.
Either let yourself drift towards sleep or gently open your eyes,
Lighter than you were when you began.
Good night.
